some nice vids

get it, if you can't fix it cheap you could always part it out. i would like to own a yj someday but i love my tj
-
well the freeze plugs n the blocks do tend to corrode and leak after a long time, but it sounds fishy to me
-
not really worth it imo. now if you were building a high compression engine, it has very high octane compared to gas, so you can make some serious power without detonation

i think its sweet. makes it look like a land rover discovery somewhat. the interior needs a nice update, but i would definalty rock it.

electric heater (an idea that needs nurturing)
jared replied to Oizarod115's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
gut the under dash and mount a mojave heater in it. ;) -
there would be a lot of benifits to this also likegetting 99% of your electrical component inside the vehicle, so deep water is just a snorkel away. they are not that difficult to do, but very time consuming and don't really expect to have a/c and maybe even heat when your done do too how much space would be required for everything.

the carfax buy back only works if you buy it from a dealership anyway to my knowledge. and have a carfax from the dealership to begin with before buying the vehicle.

50% mj 50% space ship = 100% cool
-
its possible and would look very sexy. but it would be difficult to move everything because there is a lot of stuff to relocate under the dash
-
rough country makes probably the cheapest set, i had them. they were fine. poly bushings on the frame end.

sweet

way too much money for the swap. aev did one in a tj, they won't offer that swap becuase of how much it costs to do, and their hemi swap is around 16000.

i like the libbys. they ride like a jeep, and have the 8.25 in the rear and when conveted to a solid front axles they are super awesome
-
i went 6.5'' with short arms on my xj. worst idea ever. the thing felt like you were driving over rough railroad tracks at 40 mph all day long  long arms are the way to go hands down.

wow. obviosuly this thread just turned into talk now. the red cheromanche that is a "piece of crap" looks pretty good to me, but i can understand why the rear door is the way it is. that is a $#!& load of fabrication to build another door, or to modify that one. not only do you have to modify it, but then made weatherstripping, the latches work and make it look good. a 4 door cherokee is like that because of the rear wheel being right there, but also the floor pan kicks up there too, so changing all that could have totally screwed up the interior he would be working with, and made the job harder than it has too be. me personally i would not waster time doing a 4 dr manche, just get a cherokee. but the 2 door xj door manche idea is great, more room behind the seats for storage, but again i would't waste time with trying to fit a seat back there. to much work.

Cutting lowers off of bed sides
jared replied to oldjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i like those front fenders on the white one off pirate :brows: -
trust me, go long arm anything over 4'' the ride really suffers otherwise. the motion offroad setup looks pretty good, and they are on this site to answer questions
-
sweet stuff man. was your manche in the readers rigs issue of petersons? or some other 4wd mag. i seen a yellow manche in the one on newsstands now.

ipods are easy. you basically download the itunes software and can scan the pc harddrive for music files to add to your music libray in itunes, plug in you ipod and dowload them to it. it does come with instrutions also ;) but if you don't have any music on the computer with limewire you can getstuff free, or itunes you can buy songs to put on your ipod. or you can take a cd and import it into the computer into itunes for free. they don't come with a wall charger either, but are charged through the usb port they are connected to. fyi

Long bed tank in short bed truck?
jared replied to over2land's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'd love to have dual tanks... but with the exhaust down the other side, wehre would I put it? The spare tire location is the obvious option... but then I'll be whanging the tank off all kinds of stuff off road. i would mount the fuel cell in the bed in the front and it wouldbe protected. and you have easy access to fill it -
'97+ front end with '84-'96 fenders?
jared replied to feerocknok's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
that would efeat the purpose of having a 97 frontend??? unless you mean the pre 97 flares, in which case the bolt up, but need to be trimmed in the front. i had them on my xj in the front -
any suspension company has them, but the zj one might be a 1'' drop compared to a mj. idk
-
and i do not like the rustys HD drop trackbar bracket. i think the bracket flexes do to the weak unibody frame. i had it on my xj and i didn't have a frame steering box stiffener either. i got deathwobble afterewards of installing it (i think because the bracket and frame would twist under the force of the 33s). and i did not have it before. and all the bushings were new.
