This gets me thinking about the diy overlanders putting good effort into their rigs. There’s a bunch of homemade rooftop tent builds and interior sleeping platforms with creative storage solutions all over the interwebs. Companies like ARB and the like really make sone nice products but I agree... those prices?

I’ve got a triple fan setup that put together a long time ago. As far as cost, it was pretty cheep since I put the whole works together myself from scraps. Two of the fans are on a thermostat switch and relay. The third comes on with the ignition. Does great!

We did a 5.3/4500 swap in a Scout at the shop I was at. Had plenty of power and it was fun to drive! I seem to remember the only way to put the 4500 behind the 5.3 was with a pricey bell housing from Advance Adapters. Others have done 4.8/5.3 swaps with AX15s as well though I haven’t personally seen one. Good to to see you again!

I love the idea of a Gamber rig! This event is popping up all over the country. I’d love to participate at some point. Realky too too bad you’re starting with a green ‘92 Eliminator. That’s a super rare color/trim combo. Probably pretty close to the end in production numbers too.

Sold. Wasn’t really trying all that hard but someone came along with a big enough bag of money. Cash went straight into my shop budget.

Tons of great information here! I remember WAY back finding an ancient thread with most of this and then putting together a laundry list for salvage yards. PSA: Don’t use F150 coils in your XJs/MJs, kids. They ride and flex like garbage.
