  1. Update of the dream team: ... and, yes... I call my welders the dream team all the time.
  2. Perhaps it's time to move this to an appropriate section? :dunno: http://comancheclub.com/forum/40-your-other-ongoing-projects/
  3. http://comancheclub.com/topic/38483-new-member-of-the-team/ Nothing new to add to this original thread other than an argon bottle... just wanted to be the first to post in the new section. :D
  4. Well, I went out and got a can to test a color. Granted it's a cloudy day and there was zero prep on the hood, but I'm still on the fence. :dunno:
  5. You planning on moving to Georgia for good?
  6. Yeah... I know... I really wasn't thinking green until I started looking at some colors that I liked.
  7. Been lurking around on the interwebs looking at rattle can paint jobs and I think I'm leaning towards a few colors from the Rustoleum pallet. Maui Blue: Burgundy: Gloss Army Green: Wifey's vote goes to the green. I'm really don't know... thoughts?
  8. I think it's about time to throw some attention at this. I spent the morning removing the '93 XJ underhood wiring... sorry Austin... and then hosed on some degreaser to sit and soak. Everything came out okay. I'll probably try and track down a pressure washer to finish up the firewall and way down in the deep corners. While everything was dripping off, I moved to the interior. Pretty standard here... removed the dash... found three dead mice... started thinking about patching the floor... I'll probably wait on doing any metal work until everything is swapped over from the '91 so I can move it around under its own power. Right now, I'm trying to get everything done and prepped as far as I can before taking the '91 out of commission. Already thinking about finishing too. I haven't done it for a long, long time so I think I'm due for a rattle can paint job. Any suggestions on color?
  9. Read all of it... totally in for watching this.

    Convertible Mj

I've noticed around town that there's a near mint Dakota Sport convertible running around. Actually, he cut me off big time the other day and I almost took it out! Really been thinking about what it would be to do a nice convertible Comanche especially now after Dirteatr's ordeal. It would have to be with the right truck and I'll probably never do it, but it was just more of a "what if" kind of though. I don't even remember what site I found the first video on, but after a small taste I had to see them all! Really... I think I found more amusement out of listening to the guy who's working on the truck. I think he sounds like a Muppet or something. Just about every video has to start with a dopey sounding, "... okay!..." Like most on here, I hate seeing a nice MJ cut up, but... enjoy! Part 5: "... been working on it all week...thank God I go back to work tomorrow...", "Uh... went to the steel mill and bought some steel for a roll bar... built me a bumper instead...", "I got some new wheels off of... uh... Comanche out at the junk yard... had about five of 'em out there...", "Kinda sad... uh... some of 'em had some pretty nice bodies on 'em..." :shake: Execution?... eh... not so much. However, the idea behind it?... I kinda dig it.
  13. I read the title of the thread and instantly thought of Biz Markie... "Oh SNAP! Guess what I saw?"
  14. ... says the guy has no idea what rusty rocker panels look like?
  15. That's a '72 standard. The supers had a much wider trunk lid towards the bumper and slightly wider front fenders. Sweet '72! I've got a '72 standard also. Fun little cars fo' sho'. :rock on:
  16. 2013 shake down run this morning was great! Just got home from work a few hours ago, but I decided to take the long way home. It was nice... I know I always say that it's like having a conversation with an old friend that you haven't seen in a while, but this afternoon was exactly that. There was something bugging me though. The poor truck was still wearing its "storage dirt". So I figure that since tonight is graduation night for my students, I couldn't let anyone of them out dress me for the evening!
  17. http://comancheclub.com/topic/37727-how-to-post-pictures/
  18. Sun is shining... quiet day at work... drove the truck in today... new cooling setup ran flawlessly... perfect morning. :)
  19. ... but you still need a four seater? :brows:
  20. It's so sad looking! Reminds me of that scene in Short Circuit 2 when Johnny 5 gets beat up in the alley. :(
  21. Some ideas on larger rads: http://comancheclub.com/topic/3219-project-black-betty/ http://comancheclub.com/topic/17566-360-fuel-injection-build/
  22. This. If it were my truck and it's always been in the family, I'd try and keep it alive. Being that you also had your axles coming together and wheels/tires already figured out, you should really steady the course.
  23. I was really hoping to start driving the truck again tomorrow... almost happened too. I got rid of a leaking heater control valve along with fixing the leaking thermostat housing and valve cover gasket. All that was left was to change the oil. Low and behold, no filter. Well... I guess I'll start driving it another day this week. :shake: Anyway, always nice to see things just as clean as how I left them under the valve cover: Still need to do a little more clean up under the hood, but that can happen whenever:
  24. What?... We've had a few meet n greets for the MN chapter. We just never really told anyone else about it and it was only us.
  25. Does it see anything but the driveway, sidewalk, or in front of your house? :hmm: Just sayin'...
