  1. Paint day. Went with kind of a berry red color and beat it up a little bit to show some high spots... some fo-tina, if you will. Cut down a ceiling tile also. Needs to be fastened in yet but I'm diggin' it. Also cut down and did a couple coats of poly on the counter top.
  2. ... because I need something else to do, right? So Robyn and I are into repurposed and creative antique items. We've got a bunch of pieces in our house that either we created from stuff or we've found and couldn't live without. Well, one thing since we've moved into our house that has just bugged me was the only real location to keep the hard stuff was above the refrigerator. Sure, I can get up there, but it's a real stretch to get the bottles that are way back there! Kind of a hassle when you have to take out a step stool. We need a solution... what if I need to get those bottles that are way back there and I'm... uh... unable to navigate a step stool? In the spirit of convenience and drunken safety the decision was made that we need a new liquor location. Enter a liquor cabinet! We found this at a local antique store. A week ago we also picked up some antique ceiling tiles from the same place that are overly conveniently sized to fit inside the door inserts when cut in half. The cabinet itself has seen better days so a full chemical strip and refinish is in order. Throw on a butcher block top and we're good to go. ... just love watching that stripper take it off! Tiles: Ready for paint tomorrow.
  3. Sorry to disappoint... Yes! Love it... if a tire has raised white letters you just have to show them off! :clapping:
  4. Who did you go through for your suspension components? Tell Brittany that she's awesome for supporting the cause.
  5. Been dying to get up in one of those small planes! I've got a side gig at Alexandria Aircraft, Bellance doing their welding for a while now. It's really cool being surrounded by Bellancas in different stages of restoration. Really a downer though... no one ever seems to have a good reason to go up in them. Someday!... Someday...
  6. Looks like a good start so far!
  7. Wheeled the mower again this morning. It was sweet. :D
  8. So, I called on this truck today totally out of curiosity. Apparently it was sold a few years ago to a guy, then it was sold to the current seller. A little awkward considering the fact that I was hoping to just shoot the $#!& with the guy who had it all those years ago... "Bought parts from me? Naw... that wasn't me... maybe the guy who had it back then?" Anyhow, the truck seems to be in the same great shape it was in when I saw it. I had to ask about the "starts in the winter" comment too. Yup, he drove it each winter that he had it. Bummer! Still, nice truck. It'd be great for someone to save it.
  9. I don't know... the grill is upside down. :shake:
  10. Nope. The wife and I just frequent the drive-in that's local to us. Not trying to step on any toes... plenty of awesome drive-ins that need help. Best of luck to all in the running!
  11. http://stcloud.craigslist.org/cto/4016310855.html 1986 jeep comanche - $2700 (Sartell) 197000 miles, nice shape for an 86.repair manuals and an extra set of tires and rims. 2.5 litre with 5 speed manual transmission.starts in the winter. 320-654-1195 I bought parts from this guy years ago and this truck looked just as good then. It's had some body work done but all very well taken care of. Stand up guy... sharp truck!
  12. Interesting. :hmm: Found this info over on NAXJA: ... from this link: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1083426&page=2
  13. ... as do we in Long Prairie. :D My "vote" button is bigger too!
  14. I've really been thinking about my under hood temps lately. Seems like anytime I take my '88 out, I always come home and feel the hot air coming up between the hood and the fender. I haven't really put a whole lot of thought into this because my cooling system works great! It's been a little hotter lately and I can't help but think that I should have the same amount of airflow through the radiator that is then exiting somewhere easily. I know that some sort of hood vents or a cowl hood would be ideal, but I really don't like the look of either. Then there's hood spacers, but when it comes to body lines that just don't line up that's what always catches my eye. I've thought about using just a small hood spacer, but obviously the smaller spacer won't be as efficient. Here's what I'm thinking... I think a cowl intake looks great and really cleans up an engine bay. Like this: Why wouldn't the same idea work for hot air air to exit? I'm thinking some large holes in the upper firewall that would let air exit through and out the cowl. I hate the idea of cutting up my truck though. Thoughts? Comments? Help me out here...
  15. Or, vote for the Long Prairie Drive-In! VOTE HERE!!!
  16. 1987 Jeep Comanche Laredo - $1000 (rural Grafton) http://nd.craigslist.org/cto/4011724222.html Too bad about the dented bedside. :fs2:
  17. Still wearing my suit of rust with pride!
  18. Uh... Don? You're about a month late. http://comancheclub.com/topic/39488-awesome-amphibious-jeep/ Three cheers for joining the party though!
  19. Thanks! I would love to be working on this, but the usual "life taking over" stuff has been in the way lately. Been thinking about making some mounts for the 'glass hood though... thinking about it.
  20. Any other plans besides 3-4" of lift and 35s or just replace/upgrade as it breaks? I would imagine just a little bit of cutting will be in order as well?
  21. Thanks, dude! Making plans for next year already. Hauling around crap all week really made me start thinking about the brakes... sometimes lack there of. It already has ZJ rear disks but I never did anything with the proportioning valve other than a "custom" zip tie to keep it in the most pressure position.
