With a smaller tube diameter, I think it'd look neat with a double tube setup. :dunno:

... so I figured it'd be a good time to start. I started with 2" and 1.5" round tubing and 5/16" and 1/4" round bar. It's for a kind size bed so that means I've got a ton of real estate to work with. Did some notching... some cutting... fitting... welding... you know, headboard stuff. Obligatory close up of a weld: Planning on some wood work between the two lower tubes. Not sure how I plan on finishing it yet... probably something awesome though.

I love the almost cartoonish stance about this truck. Almost like one big RC! The antenna just adds to the look. Great truck! Totally deserving of MJOTM!

I had it bookmarked just for these couple pictures showing the difference in firewalls: ... If you look on the right side of the area above the transmission tunnel, there is a "step" at the top of the newer one that allows the 4.0 to clear it, whereas on the older engine its not there... ... he did a great job of showing how to dissect a front crossmember in the "Damien" thread too.

It was the wife and I's 6th anniversary over this past weekend so we decided that it would be a great time to get away and just spend some time together. It was great! We made a little drive to the opposite corner of the state from us... Duluth. Of course, if we were going to Duluth, we just had to stop by and see what was happening at the Archer facility. Let me tell you... some stuff happened. I sat down and had a nice chat with someone that was very connected in the Jeep scene during the reign of Comanches in the SCCA. Got some interesting new information about the trucks and heard some amazing stories. Who was this man? Only the guy who shifted through the gears in the #33 truck... Mr. Tommy Archer! Couldn't leave the building without a souvenir either. Problem was that we stopped there on the first day of our trip. Rather than carting stuff around with us, I had to make an awkward trip up to the hotel room. Not that I'm complaining, really. I had no problem waking up to this each morning. Yup... in all its lightweight, fiberglass goodness! Granted, they only ran the fiberglass hoods in one race before they were caught and had to remove them but I think it'll make a great addition to the truck!

Well, I went out and got a can to test a color. Granted it's a cloudy day and there was zero prep on the hood, but I'm still on the fence. :dunno:

Yeah... I know... I really wasn't thinking green until I started looking at some colors that I liked. :roll:

Been lurking around on the interwebs looking at rattle can paint jobs and I think I'm leaning towards a few colors from the Rustoleum pallet. Maui Blue: Burgundy: Gloss Army Green: Wifey's vote goes to the green. I'm really don't know... thoughts?
