This week my '88 pulled and hauled 2700 lbs. dirt/rubble (Monday), 2500 lbs. buckshot rock (Tuesday), and 3000 lbs. concrete mix (Wednesday). The truck pulls great! Doesn't even know when it has a load behind it. When it comes time to stop... that's another story. Needs some brake upgrades!!!

Been putting this truck to work all week long from moving concrete mix, rock, and other such basement carnage. Didn't skip a beat!... dirty as hell again, though. :shake: -

Comanche Of The Month - August, 2013 - The Rc Mj!
neohic replied to neohic's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
^THIS!!! :rock on: -
Remember back when the news was going around that they were making them again? It was actually two years ago this month when the fire started to spread. The excitement was amazing! Just the thought that a company would spend the money on such a task and the research and development behind it all is truly an honor to what Jeep produced so many years ago now. The lines were dead on. The customization was just as workable as original. The body being totally susceptible to rust was totally what we needed! That's right, this month's MJTOM goes to... THE RC MJ!!!! These things are amazing! They're just what the Comanche Doctor called for when it comes to all the offload action without the headache of playing nice enough to drive it back home. Hell, they're easy enough to keep around that anyone can build their own RC fleet that could rival even the very Jim Oshel! Let's have another look... So, there you have it... your MJOTM for August, 2013! Nope, there's no specs listed this month. However, I would invite everyone to post up their own RC MJ! Make sure you list the usual drivetrain, suspenion, wheels/tires, even your best MJ story about your RC truck. Let's see what you've got, CC!

In the ground! Hello future space people!!! :wavey:

Today was the day. For the capsule itself, I used some 2" PVC and a couple caps. Inside, we put a letter about who we are and what was going on at the time, an AMC Jeep badge, a broken iPod, a dollar bill, and a picture of us on our wedding day. Hello, future!

WRZ's comanche Now the 96 od2 swap in progress
neohic replied to Wrz's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I had the same thing happen on my '88 a few years ago. New o-rings... couple new injectors... changed out the fuel rail to find a small crack on the bottom side right next to one of the injector cups. Everything else is looking really good though. Diggin' the cleanliness of the build! -
Another day of a few hours to fill... that means more paint! Hood, fenders, cowl, other such front end parts... that sort of stuff. In remembrance of its past self, I managed to get a couple of the saw tooth stripes off without totally destroying them. They need a little smoothing out, but it's nice to have another Jeep oriented decoration on my tool box. :D Next will be to get the front sheet metal hung on the truck. Then I've got a good axle out of a '98 XJ that needs to go in. While that's out, I've got a RMS to go in along with a new oil pan gasket waiting to go. Brake lines to the rear... rear brakes... front brakes... metal work on the bed... paint the bed... and so on.

I've been seeing a bunch lately around my place too. Not any that I haven't passed before, but it's nice to know that they're still out there. Here's a bunch members with similar experiences: http://comancheclub.com/topic/36402-how-many-comanches-are-in-your-area/

New Equipment... Cnc Plasma Table!
neohic replied to neohic's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
It's done!... as far as I can get it anyhow. The ventilation is on hold until the HVAC guys come back to connect the dots. They dropped off an adapter ring to weld on at the business end of the vent tube. Belting went in place. Everything got run back and forth to check for clearances. Paint... final fit up... had some professionals come in to level and square the frame... now it's all up to the school's electrician to drill for some new grounds through the floor. More pictures! I made up some temporary table slats with high hopes of cutting something with it this week. Still need to wait on the rest of the world for that though. Very happy with how everything came out! Even the pros asked where we found such a custom engineered vent system! The for real slats will be made up similar fashion. Planning to make up sections of slats so they'll be easier to replace and easier to clean out the little bits and pieces out of the bottom of the table. Otherwise, everything fits very well with the rest of the shop. It's a little tight, but it was placed in a way that it would use up a bunch of odd real estate in that lab. Now to finish cleaning up the rest of the shop before the students come back. -
Wheeled a fork lift today right over a curb. Granted, it wasn't the kind of wheeling that was intentional, but wheeling none the less. Sorry, I didn't manage to grab any pictures... I don't think it was all that much flex anyhow.

That looks way too clean for any sort of tough truck racing.

Thanks Jay! I had a little bit of time to fill today. Got the doors, cowl, a-pillars, and tons of over spray on an already terrible windshield.

Why is it that no matter what is typed in the "Topic Title" the outcome always has the first letter of each word capital? Say for example I want something to read as "Fun Topics on CC", it'll show up as "Fun Topics On Cc". 'Sup with dat?
