  1. Ok, the 95+ seats do not bolt in. So to solve this problem, I cut all the original studs off the floor, welded some angle to the floor for the front part of the 96 brackets and made new studs in the back as well as modifying one of the rear legs on each bracket. A big thanks to Eric and Ben(mulipurposemj) for all the help. Ben "doin' work" to one of the seat brackets Pass seat in, as well as the new center console. If you look toward the bottom you can see some of the new mounts for the drivers seat. Both seats in. (by the way its not stains on the seats its just water.) My help, Ben(mulipurposemj) is on the left and Eric on the right. Now to unbolt everything and paint the seats and center console black, reinstall the carpet, I might bedline the floors first though, then the other interior panels, then put my new seats in and go cruzin for chicks or do some drive-by's or something cool like that.
  2. which one are you?
  3. red chiefs are where its at, in my unbiased opinion
  4. i want to see pictures. but I am not a member of GLXJ
  5. Instead of a lift shackle, you should get the 7.5" TnT y-link lift kit, but I wouldnt run stock axles with it, so you'll have to give SOLID a call and order a set of 44's, and with your new axles you will definitly need a nice new set of 35's, and get beadlocks for them, oh yeah you still need shocks and some other little things, but that will level out your truck real nice.
  6. :teehee: my bad
  7. badass dude. nice score, what was the total cost for your goods?

    HEY PETE...

this was some of the funniest reading :rotf:
  9. what about the fact that the seats don't tip forward? do you care?
  10. If you know you want more than 3" later, I'd wait. Save a little money, do a lot of research, and make a plan. Go from stock to billy-badass trailmachine. Building it in steps is going to cost more in the long run.
  11. what is the outside width on the front end. (from the outside of one tire to the other.) I'm just curious.
  12. $200 for what? 2 spring perches? a parking brake cable kit? matching yolk? I don't think that he is taking into account the fact that you can buy a late 90's 8.8 with discs straight from the yard for $200 Actually I am. I just used the MORE kit as an example. It includes perches, shock mounts and hardware.
  13. I agree you don't see any under MJ's and I didnt know it was a one piece shaft. I'll give it to you, thats a pretty cool swap.
  14. the damage will probably buff right out.
  15. Yes. If you can find an 8.8 for less that $250 with 4:10's the 8.8 kit from MORE is $200. So for ~$450 you can have an 8.8 with 4.10s and discs. A dana 44 gear swap will run around $300 and the disc swap anywhere from $200 to $600. 8.8 cost ~$450 44 cost ~$500-900 those estimates are all DIY I say do it. plus once you get the 8.8 you can sell the 44 for a pretty penny and that will make the change much cheaper. then later down the road you can get the super 8.8 kit and ditch the c-clips.
  16. what made you choose an AMC 20? and what is it out of? Thats an interesting swap.
  17. The man with the famous, and trademarked, relay-box. welcome to the club.
  18. Got busy on the interior today. Tore the carpet out and to my suprise, the floors are in damn near perfect shape. Not bad for an 87. Now instead of trying to mount my seats like I was going to do, I got distracted by a shift knob I've had lying around for 2 years. So I cut off the old threads. Then Welded on a new stud. The finished product. I didnt have any black paint so I actually shot the shifter with duplicolor truck bed coating, I kind of like the way it looks. I get to my seats later this week. Oh and my center console.
  19. i would buy that any modify it to work. The price is very reasonable. better than starting from scratch, IMO.
  20. why couldn't the tailgate be made to work?
  21. I don't have the 96+ xj. So i'm just going to run a piece of angle along the floor to bolt the seat to.
  22. Wow, that looks good. I don't think I've seen that before. Good idea.
  23. holy hell! what a build. i am so jelous of the atlas.
  24. I cleaned the carpet today. Then I took the brackets off the bench and the 96 xj buckets. Apples and oranges. So after comparing them for about 2 minutes I decided to quit, and go ponder how to make it work. (read: watch tv)
