A local guy pulled me over to ask me if I wanted a MJ specific tool box, I followed him home and he gave it to me. I like free.....very nice of him. It'll get painted black. Image Not Found Image Not Found [/url] Image Not Found Image Not Found

As I had posted here before, all the pumps are interchangeable. This is off a '04 Grand.......what is different is the bracketry and some pumps are threaded and others are not and are for through bolts....these can be threaded as this one is- Image Not Found Thursday I picked up the correct bracket for the MPI intake that I will use on my new engine..........it's really cool how we can mix and match parts here from different years and from 4.0s to 2.5s

I have no idea who's using what here........confused........? But it sounds line OP and one other is using an alkyd product......rustolium......oil based paint or primer. What you linked to is a hardener for synthetic enamels........acrylics......automotive grade. Tractor Supply sells a good hardener, 8oz (iirc) that makes up two quarts. I have used it when I repaint my trailer and it works very well, gets me two year finish verses a 1 year finish using Rustolium. I would not use anything other than a automotive grade finish or primer.....acrylic or urethane......but thats me. Yes, there are other 'hot solvent' based products for industrial use, such as xylene based primers and finishes.....but what is the point? when you can go to your local automotive store and get automotive grade products? Rustolium is made for wrought iron gates and utility trailers...........not TRUCKS! Prep....prep......prep......... I refuse to use rust converters or rust-over primers........don't be so lazy that you do not clean to bare metal or replace.

Engine mount brackets
Jeep Driver replied to Jeep Driver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I need the engine side brackets.......that bolt to the block. There is nothing wrong with the ones that are in my truck now but I'd like to have a set painted and on the engine before swap time. -
Improving headlights

You'll be happy. When I built the harness for the wife's XJ I bought NAPA's high end sealed beams, equivalent to the Xtra. They are now sitting in a box in the garage, biggest waste of $55 I've spent in a long time. Hella H4s. -
If it's leaking between the head and block you may assume that the head is warped. If you got to a new gasket........I'd have the head done and the head decked.

Anyone one got MJ/XJ engine mount brackets that they can compare, 2.5 to 4.0? Anyone got a set of 2.5 engine mounts to sell? I have a spare set of Wrangler brackets, at a glance they looked the same but comparing pics they are not. 4.0 brackets are a dime a dozen round here but 2.5........forget about it...... Thanks

Renix headers/custom headers
Jeep Driver replied to JeepComanche89's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
but arn't the ports different? I don't really have a problem with the flange, my exhaust dude can take care of that IDK....... I'm more familiar with the 2.5s, they have not changed from '84 through '02. Here's mine, I'm using a '98 block and head with Renix and I'm currently converting a late model intake to Renix. Yes........I wasn't clear........ You need to go H4 or LEDs to get any noticeable improvement with your harness. There are several threads here on the subject......search. -

Bung for O2 in your down pipe. Rid yourself of the EGR. http://www.jegs.com/i/AFE+Power/048/48-46201/10002/-1?CAWELAID=1710627837&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=230006180000849066&cadevice=c&gclid=Cj0KEQiA1eyiBRC-qI2VzKf0vaUBEiQAUiZ3xPz6pwYAjTv0W9x7X9i_XKCSOEK3BvCHKHSHD5VVYksaAp1V8P8HAQ -
Improving headlights

I don't think you'll see much improvement with the harness only. And the high-dollar Xtra lamps..........ain't nothing xtra about that but price. -
I don't think you can.

Rear under bed Mounted Battery
Jeep Driver replied to daking's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's correct. Also- Welding cable may have 50-60 strands of fine wire wound to make up the cable, whereas the 4g cable that everyone uses for automotive may have 5-6 strands of heavier wire wound to make up the cable. The 10-11ft required to run from the battery to the firewall may actually have LESS amp draw loss than the 3ft of 4g cable. These guys are concerned for nothing.- 16 replies

Rear under bed Mounted Battery
Jeep Driver replied to daking's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I mounted my battery in the trunk of my Camaro many years ago and used the same cable as he did........never a problem. And this is common practice among hot rodders. OP- since you went to all that trouble.........I'd have gone to a large deep cycle battery.- 16 replies

I just did a search........may be the LS1 I'm thinking of and not the SBC. Go to Summitt.........every SBC oil pan configuration has been made......yeah you may have to pay $100-200 for one but you'll find one.
