Judging from the symptoms you described, you probably mistreat your pets. ;) ;) (just kidding)

My 2ยข. I specifically purchased an aftermarket from Worst Buy that does not have a cassette or CD. It is bluetooth and iPod/iPhone ready. I was tired of cass and CD all over the interior. ...but is looks nice. :clapping: -
If you are in/near Waynesboro PA (south central PA close to MD) this rear axle is for sale. https://frederick.craigslist.org/pts/5423857173.html

pre bent hard break lines
87MJTIM replied to NorthWoods's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
A friend bought from here www.inlinetube.com for his Suburban. The website lists CJ, XJ and J-series pickups, no MJs listed. I don't know about the quality. My friend recommended them. Try contacting them to see if they have/can get MJ brake lines. -
BUMP! Happened again today. I was in the post office. The clerk at the counter could see my truck outside. She asked if that was my truck. I told her it is. She asked: Did you have that custom built or did you get it like that? I am probably guessing, but I think my truck is older than she is.

Things that are direct swaps: front axle, 4wd trans and tcase, front drive shaft (automatic for automatic. manual trans will be too short.) Be sure to get the tcase shifter and linkage from the donor. Things that will not swap: rear drive shaft. You need to have your existing DS shortened to fit for the added tcase. Others may/will add to this list.

jeep comanche cranks but won't start

Did you reconnect the CPS? Maybe knock off the wire for the CPS. -
I kept the flywheel that was with the BA10 The CPS goes with the flywheel and the engine electronics. It doesn't care about which trans you have. Good to hear you got it lined up.

Where are you? What color interior? (For our neighbours to the north, colour). I have a tan/beige.

Here is a shield for an AX15. Compare the lower right portion to your bell housing. Yours has a flat/straight side. The shield has a more rounded edge to it.

If the bolt pattern does not match up, you may have an AX5 bell housing. Some references http://www.wranglerforum.com/f218/ax-5-vs-ax-15-a-261833.html Look at the 7th post. Also: http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/transmission-drivetrain/154-1101-ax5-to-ax15-transmission-swapping/ See this AX15 swap in to a CJ on www.jeep-cj.com second page, post #16 http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f2/doing-ax15-yj-booster-swap-4415/index2.html

The 258 and 4.0 are the same engine block. I put the 90 AX15 on an 84 CJ7.

i am not near mine, but I don't remember the flat edge in the lower right of the picture. I thought it was rounded most of the way around.

Do you have a picture of it lining up to the trans? I swapped a BH for an internal slave and external and everything lined up. (90 AX and 98 AX)

You'll need to get a bell housing for an AX15 (not AX5 or AX4). Preferably an external slave bell housing - 94+.

Did the swap last year. The plate is the same for both BA and AX. For the bell housing, there is no 87 or 88 AX15. The AX15 first appeared in mid-89 in all jeep lines. You'll have to examine your 89 to determine if you have the BA or AX. The bell housing for the BA10 will not bolt to the AX15. Later AX15s with external slave will have inter-changeable bell housings with earlier AX15s.

parts to replace while transmission is out?
87MJTIM replied to groghunter's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What engine and trans do you have? 4.0 has AX15, 2.5 has AX4 or AX5. I don't know about the 2.5. For the 4.0, you cannot get to the RMS from the back of the engine. You have to drop the oil pan to change the RMS. -
I looked on Rockauto.com for '88 BA10 and '90 AX15, both internal slaves. RA has different part numbers listed. I would say they are different.

Volt gauge, starting, dying.

CPS? Similar symptoms years ago (in a galaxy far away). Truck just died on the highway. I would crank but not fire. Still had electrics. -
That is just a small portion of a longer video. I think the total length was 10 min. Looks like it was made in the '30s. The whole video is on youtube. Here is the full length

 Thank you for that explanation.

91Pioneer, is there a maker of MJ rocker panels you might suggest? My searching found 2 companies - Sherman and C2C. Most people had nothing good to say about C2C. I did not find many negatives about Sherman.

I remember reading on here that XJ rockers do not have the same profile as MJ. Also, the ends are different. I was just asking about replacement rockers. My research leads to Sherman products.
