  1. i am not near mine, but I don't remember the flat edge in the lower right of the picture. I thought it was rounded most of the way around.
  2. Here are instructions http://comancheclub.com/topic/37727-how-to-post-pictures/
  3. Do you have a picture of it lining up to the trans? I swapped a BH for an internal slave and external and everything lined up. (90 AX and 98 AX)
  4. You'll need to get a bell housing for an AX15 (not AX5 or AX4). Preferably an external slave bell housing - 94+.
  5. Did the swap last year. The plate is the same for both BA and AX. For the bell housing, there is no 87 or 88 AX15. The AX15 first appeared in mid-89 in all jeep lines. You'll have to examine your 89 to determine if you have the BA or AX. The bell housing for the BA10 will not bolt to the AX15. Later AX15s with external slave will have inter-changeable bell housings with earlier AX15s.
  6. What engine and trans do you have? 4.0 has AX15, 2.5 has AX4 or AX5. I don't know about the 2.5. For the 4.0, you cannot get to the RMS from the back of the engine. You have to drop the oil pan to change the RMS.
  7. I looked on Rockauto.com for '88 BA10 and '90 AX15, both internal slaves. RA has different part numbers listed. I would say they are different.
  8. CPS? Similar symptoms years ago (in a galaxy far away). Truck just died on the highway. I would crank but not fire. Still had electrics.
  9. That is just a small portion of a longer video. I think the total length was 10 min. Looks like it was made in the '30s. The whole video is on youtube. Here is the full length
  10. Thank you for that explanation.
  11. 91Pioneer, is there a maker of MJ rocker panels you might suggest? My searching found 2 companies - Sherman and C2C. Most people had nothing good to say about C2C. I did not find many negatives about Sherman.
  12. I remember reading on here that XJ rockers do not have the same profile as MJ. Also, the ends are different. I was just asking about replacement rockers. My research leads to Sherman products.
  13. Thought about it this morning: Fuel pump relay. The way to check that is to swap relays and see if that turns on the pump. The relays are in the engine compartment, passenger's side, on the shock tower.
  14. First, check to see if it is getting fuel. Lots of write ups on how to do this. One simple way is try cranking the engine; turn it off; press the fuel rail pressure release valve.' WEAR GLASSES! HAVE A RAG TO COVER THE VALVE. GAS WILL SPRAY! This will tell you if fuel is getting to the rail. Next, test for spark. Pull one of the spark plugs. Hold it close to a ground. Have a partner crank the engine. See if it sparks. No Fuel: trace lines back to tank looking for blockage. Replace fuel filer? relatively inexpensive. Test wires to fuel pump. Before Cruiser says it, check out his tips for Renix engines. www.cruiser54.com
  15. One wire s/b Blk/ Yel. This is the feed wire. With ign in run, it will show voltage. The 2nd wire is Brw/Wht. This feeds pwr to the lights. When you put the trans in rev, the switch closes the circuit. Turn ign to run, but don't start engine. Check that you have pwr coming in on the Blk/Yel. Put the trans in rev. see if you have pwr on the Brw/Wht. If not, then replace switch.
  16. That is the BA10 back up light switch.
  17. I have a 1988 Pioneer LWB 4.0 5 speed 4x4. I don't know which trans I have. Ill look more at this switch after work today. Thanks for those links! A stock trans is BA10/5 I finally broke down and replaced my switch just before I swapped trans to an AX15.
  18. Do you have an AX4 or 5 (2.5) or a BA10 (4.0)? The BA has this for its switch http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=939441&cc=1181483&jnid=478&jpid=0 The AX has this switch http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=932883&cc=1181472&jnid=444&jpid=0
  19. '87, but I'm biased.
  20. I'd start with the trans switch first. Test it to see if it works. Don't know what trans you have, but the switch is my first guess.
  21. You guys beat me to it!
  22. The connector looks like C103. It connects the engine and ECU. Here is the '88 electric manual to help guide you. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/
  23. Sounds like a beer (or 2) is in order!
  24. Here is the driver's side When I installed Krusty's receiver hitch, I had to trim the angle piece off. You can see how they're hanging when I installed the hitch.
  25. Pulled these out of a '93 XJ
