Your alt should have a V shiv between the casing and the grooves for the Serp Belt. If not, you've got a 4.0 alt. Its the same general alt for ac, non ac, what makes the difference is the housing IIRC.

Noice 86. The Diesel trans that came in stock Oil-eater MJ's was the AX-5. If yours has the 4 angry Squirrels and its a 5spd, then you've got an AX-5. If you can do an AX-15, do'er. Try for an External Slave, less headache when a part goes. You'll need to get a Bellhousing that will bolt to the engine you're uysing though

you'd have better luck getting a Snowball to survive next to Hitler in Hell. The frt axle is a closed knuckle D27, the rear is a 44, The drop on the front is the wrong side, the axle is weak. The engine and rest of the D/T would need to be transplanted along with the axles, the front is leaves so its needing either a coil conversion or fab up for leaves on the MJ

Okay, so they are not burning up. The ballast resistor should read between 2-4 ohms. If that measurement's good, measure the voltage at the pump with the resistor in the circuit. Should be 9-11 volts. If the voltage is lower than that, you've probably got corrosion at the ballast resistor wire connectors causing excessive voltage drop, since it runs okay when you jumper out the resistor. Wouldn't hurt to do a fuel pressure test at the rail and change the fuel filter too. :cheers: Don, you hit it on the nose. the little plugs themselves are blacker than night, lots of corrosion.

well, I'm looking for insight really. Today, I could run it for about oh, 10-12 minutes and then it would cut in and out with fuel delivery. Shut it down, start it up, same thing, 10-12 mins, cut in and out. Even giving it too much pedal will make fuel delivery go weird. With it bypassed, runs like a scalded dog.

What gives? This is the 2nd one Ive had sheet the bed in 2 weeks.
