When we find the build plans I will post them on the DIY or on my thread. -
should i remove the current shocks to ensure they are not limiting anything in the rear before i measure? and I do plan to use the truck to haul loads both in bed and on a trailer (thus the MT springs). so whatever i get i would want to accommodate towing or hauling something 2 or 3 times a month.. and again there are hydro and nitro shocks, hydro is cheaper but would nitro be better? getting measurements is pretty straight forward but choosing brand, model, and type is my biggest concern. I want a smooth ride, and something that can handle loads.. should i mix shock types, have something softer in the front and stiffer in the rear? thanks

the way my uncle is, nothing other than perfection will do. All I wanted was a very good sounding Sub system.. Two years later i finally got it  I just hope it will fit with the XJ center console. I can't seem to type today, good thing there is spell check built into Fire Fox. :hmm: -

1st, yes it will be going into the MJ, and as you noticed the sub box does have a flat bottom and the back of a MJ does not. My MJ is still at the shop so we where not able to finish the base of the sub box.. and its actually in the back of my Aunt's Honda CRV, thought we where going to have problems when i wanted to take it out because she liked it.. It most likely will be way too much bass for the cab on a MJ but the whole thing (4 Kenwood cab speakers, 600 watt amp, 2 10 inch subs, and stuff to make the box) only cost me about 60 bucks, so its more of a because i can thing right now. But i do agree with sound quality over loudness. 2nd. My uncle that helped me build it has built several boxes in the past that turned out better than some car audio shops "custom" boxes. after I got the subs I looked up the specs for airspace req. Then we measured how much space i have behind the seats, as well as the angle of the seats. then we did the math and did some more measuring till we where in the middle of the required airspace. the box is a sealed design and its pretty well air tight. It is solid, and heavy without the subs. But what you can't hear in the video clip is bass, my poor iPhone 4 can't record that apparently, it was awesome to say the least. If i ever get an XJ I may would move the system over to it. -

Can anyone recommend me a high quality lock de icer?
Blue88Comanche replied to Jerry's topic in The Pub
insert blank key before lock iced over, use lighter to heat key blank that is frozen in lock, heat will be transferred via the key into the lock  how does your gizmo work? I don't get iced out often on the Alabama Gulf Coast -

can you swap the intake manifold from the newer ones onto the renix? -
I need some help choosing some shocks for my MJ. i have a budget of about $200 because i still need to pay my mechanic after he finishes up the transmission work.. any way after i installed the MT springs it lifted it up a few inches in the rear, and now when i go over a hole the shock maxes out. My current shocks (as far as i can tell) are the factory 4x4 shocks. I know there are Hydro and Nitro shocks and thats about it. most of my driving it to and from work with some off roading a weekend here or there. thanks

thats a nice interior. Other than the gauge cluster why would you want to change it?

nice build  did you get your subs in yet? I should be finishing up my twin 10" box this weekend. -
ya because Blue was my grandfathers Jeep i was keeping it as close to stock as i can, aside from the front springs, center console, cone filter, and grille guard all the other mods where stock options for other MJs. That is why I bought Red in the first place, it was going to be my V8 hot rod but my little brother will be driving soon so i am giving it to him.

:hateputers: that just makes me sick :fs1: If there is a plus side they are making those collectables more rare and thus more valuable... Right?

 shiny Jeep... Looks awesome! welcome to the club My Grandfather bought my Blue Comanche new, and his 4 sons and their kids wanted it but he would not give it to them... After i started driving he gave me the keys! My Comanche has been a Bittersweet love. Shes been at the auto shop for 6 months and out of commission for 8. finally got the parts for the new transmission and will have her back later this week! I bought my Father and little brother their Comanches, Jeep has become part of my family's life style. Careful what you are getting your self into because you can never only have just one :brows:

well that shows that the 4.0 can take a beating and keep on going kinda...

now i notice what was trimmed on the top two pics  mostly asking if i should use a file or grinder, don't want to take off too much
-
so just trim the axle part where it LCA would touch. should i use a coarse metal file or an angle grinder?
