  1. Your description sounds like when mine had an exhaust leak. You could have messed with something when you replaced the muffler... On mine the intake/exhaust gasket tore and pushed out near the front of the motor. It made a weird hissing/squeaking noise. Cracked headers are also common. :wrench:
  2. After I changed my pitman arm I realized I didn't have the right socket to torque it back on, so I tightened it as much as I could with a big crescent wrench. The next day I got the correct socket and torqued it on. The idiot at Sears charged me for the 1/2"-3/4" (I think) adapter but not the socket. The adapter was like $5 while the socket was at least $20... If they can't train their employees correctly, then it's their own fault. :D

    Jeep camp

    :agree:
  12. I used my stock shaft after I swapped in my Dana 44 for almost a year. I had it off road a couple times and launched it off the top of a sand dune once, didn't hurt any thing. But yours sounds like it might be a little tighter of a fit... Better safe than sorry.
  13. MY np231 has a RE Hack N Tap SYE, It was on it when I got it. The drive shaft I had made does not have a CV joint on it, but does have a slip yoke. There are regular U-joints on both ends. From what I understand, CV joints are for vehicles with very steep drive lines, (like CJs) Comanche's don't typically have very steep drive line angles. Don't CV joints require more maintenance and such?

    Magazines

I really like JP magazine, Pete Trasborg (one of the editors) has a couple mj's he does articles on sometimes. They are pretty funny sometimes too, like I start laughing to my self as I read it. :clapping: We used to get Petersons but never really liked it that much. My dad just never renewed it... but they still sent it to us for like six months after the subscription ended.
  15. Most people don't know what a comanche is, how many would know what I'm talking about if I told them I drive a forward control jeep? :huh???: I would drive it any ways though.

  19. Is it possible you have the polarity backwards on the pump so it's sucking air in instead of pumping fuel out? Just an idea.... :hmm:

  22. I put 6 1/2" in the front but moved the holes over so they wouldn't get in the way of the window cranks.

    Pull a Part?

My dad has all sorts of cordless tools, he uses them for work. I used the 18v sawzall to get my bumper, I had to cut through two 3/8" by like 4-1/5" steel plates. I only used one blade and one or two batteries. Cutting oil goes a long ways. If you go slower the battery and blades will last a lot longer. My dad's buddy has a cordless grinder and he says it kills batteries really quick and isn't all that great. It you want the axle bad enough, just take a hack saw. You just need to cut through the tops of the U-bolts then spin them out of the way (with a hammer) so the axle can drop down. USE CUTTING OIL! it helps A LOT. :wrench: Or you could just try unbolting it....
