  1. I was at the JY today and saw a '90 Cherokee with the retractable engine light with that connector!! I assumed the engine light connector was a single wire in my '90 like in my '88 & '89 but it's not. The Engine light for the '88 & '89 have a grounding wire that attaches to the support bar but the '90 light has both wires feeding into the connector. I should know to never ASSume  , especially with JEEPS!
  2. clutch-to-floor safety is not on any of my MJ's. matter of fact, I've never once seen an xj or mj with it that's pre-1995 They probably already broke and had to be bypassed. Mind you, they were required by all states (they are in WA) That's not correct. I purchased my 1990 5 speed brand new off the lot. I start it in neutral without the clutch depressed and if I start it in gear without the clutch depressed it lurches forward. It's done this from day 1 and I'm in California where all the safety laws flourish. JeepcoMJ is correct.
  3. The front heater vent for the full console set up has a large "hole" in the front where that black tube mates with it (at least Cherokee ones). The tube then runs around the gear shifter/selector to the back of the console where it forks to the two rear vents in the console.
  4. I have two also, one is the bronze color the other is gold with the number 0085 stamped under the MJ on the front.
  5. I put the rear heater tube in, this way I can put my hand behind the console and heat it up on our cold 40° California mornings. BookspanS, if you need a Cherokee front heater vent I can pull one at the JY if you can't get one.
  6. Yup have 1 ('90), 2 ('89), & 3 ('88) and room for 6 more (not physically however), I didn't get the urge for this nomenclature until I got #2 :jump:
  7. CS3 = PHOTOSHOP CS3 My wife chopped it and sent it to me at work today so I thought I would share, but 69CamaroSS just had to spoil the illusion. :rotfl2:
  8. I kind of agree with Hawk except: 1-1970 Hemi 'Cuda convertible, four speed (1 of 5) 2-1971 Hemi 'Cuda convertible, four speed (1 of 3) 3-1970 AAR Cuda with four speed in Hemi Orange 4-1970 AAR Cuda with four speed in Lime Twist 5-1970 AAR Cuda with four speed in In Violet My dream (in actual size of course and yeah, they're all 'Cudas)
  9. Reality is a state of mind Grasshopper. :typing: -CS3
  10. I assumed it was a "stop" block for the steering box so it couldn't move forward but that's just a guess.
  11. Hey Willy, where was this taken? It looks pretty high.
  12. Both my '88 and '90 manual trans MJs do not have any sort of NSS. If you try to start them in gear without the clutch depressed, they lunge foreward.
  13. How can it be the thermostat? Even if the thermostat was stuck open, after 30 miles at 50 MPH in 45°F weather (not very cold) I would imagine the temp would be up at the 210°F operating temperature. On a related note: Will a temp sensor for an '88 yield accurate temperature if it's feeding a gauge out of an '86?
  14. There is another screw that holds the front air deflector in place that I had to remove in order to remove that steering box "stop" block.
  15. Thanks for the link. Where did you weld the bolt that matched the nutsert flange? Do you have a picture? Thanks.
  16. :needpics: Just couldn't resist.
  17. of course i have no sense, I own three Comanches! :D Here's another
  18. Next time I climb Half Dome (Yosemite National Park) I'll have to take a video camera. Here are a couple of still pics 4700 feet above the valley floor.
  19. This is correct, I pulled some brackets/hooks from an XJ and the tow hook bracket was welded to the bumper bracket. See this post for pictures, disregard the "mystery" brackets. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12548
  20. Please post the site for the homemade $2 nutsert tool. :D Thanks.
  21. I like those also, I went for the six letter CMNCHE so I could add a digit 1, 2, 3 ...
  22. PM an e-mail address and I can send you a pdf of the '87MJ Electrical manual.
  23. I much prefer CMNCHE over MANCHE, I've never liked Manche sounds a little he/she-ish :rotfl2: No offense to anyone now that I see it is winning.
  24. 1-two dogs 2-two cats 3-one bird 4-one snake 5-one wife
