Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. i wanted to know if anyone has any info on the Pa state inspection in regards to truck beds. or lack there of. wanted to know if i could get my truck inspected without a bed on it in the state of Pennsylvania. any knowledge would help. thanks
  2. I just clamped a vise grip to the ground and laid ot on the floor for now
  3. I just did the timing balancer and water pump. I also did the headers and had the gas tank dropped to build a flat bed. Went to start it and it just cranks. I can't figure it out. Any ideas would be great
  4. Anyone know the thread pattern for the door hinge bolt? Want to change it out for a hex head to make it easier to line up the door gaps
  5. Anyone know who carries borla headers for a 1990 comanche. . Iv been lookin for a lil and I can't find anything under a 91
  6. Well I'm from pa. Not cali so maybe it will pass. Not sure
  7. Would it run ok or even pass emissions if I plug the egr?
  8. Any idea how to run the egr on the HO borla headers?
  9. heard somewhere u can put HO (91-93) headers on a renix. just wanted to make sure before i make an expensive oopsy.
  10. Sorry. I was asking about the sensor in the side of the block. The PO cut the wires and. Plugged the whole. I'm thinking it might b a HO motor cause of small things such as the old coil that's mounted on the side of the block. Any definitive. Way to tell if its HO ?
  11. Does anyone know what colors the wires are foe the cool ant temp sensor for a 90 4•0l? And where is the cool ant temp sensor located on an HO motor?
  12. Anyone know if a HO camshaft position sensor will work in the renix system?
  13. Man! Had my figures crossed but no such luck for me. Everything checked out with the cps. Thanks tho. Any one else have any idea?
  14. ok where to start? i have posted my problem a while ago (i have a 1990 comanche eliminator 4.0l 5 speed with roughly 150,000 miles. runs good besides it leaks some oil (what jeep doesnt). but here's the problem. when i drive it for about 45 min to an hour it will start to act up. it will cut out. come back in. cut out. come back in but my foot will still be on the throttle and the rpms will still be where they should be relative to my speed and gear. until i take it out of gear then it will turn all the way off. if i start it back up right away it the rpms will spike to 3 thousand. hold for a split sec. and come back to about 1. sputter a couple of times and then shut off again most of the time. sometimes it will idle fine for five to ten min. then i drive down the road a couple hundred feet and it will get pissy again. here is the weird thing. if i let it cool down for 15 to twenty min. turn it back on and go it will drive fine for another 45 min to and hour. now i'v checked fuses everytime just to make sure. and 2 times is was my trans fuse that blew. but every other time it hasnt been. i wiggle wires and all the good luck rituals i like to call them and nothing seems to help. i think it might be wiring or at least sensors. i have a new crank shaft sensor and throttle positioning sensor due to other problems. I'm starting to think it might be the ignition swith or something in the ignition system. or maybe the trans is over heating and trying to tell me something. or maybe even vacuum lines. but i don't know anymore. JUST won't TO WHEEL!)..... :fs1: ok. since then i have determined threw testing and or replacing the iac, ignition module, coil, o2, knock sensor and upgraded valve cover(don't know if these would have anything to do with it) injectors, fuel pump and soft lines ( got the expensive pump from chrystler and also cleaned and used por 15 tank sealer) pcv, ccv, evap canister, tested tps again, fp resistor... only thing i can think of is to change the fuel filter again. now after i changed the fuel pump it ran fine and wouldnt act up for several 2 hr or more trips. then the problem came back but of coarse is worse. problem starts in twenty min and i have to let it sit till the motor get almost completely cold (least an hour) then repeat. :dunno: hope someone has some sort of answer. if not ill just hang it up :wavey: thank ya kindly
  15. Napa, Chrysler doesn't carry them anymore
