I did the 2" pucks / chevy drop shackles on mine. You can see before and after on the last couple of pages of my build thread in my sig.

On the subject of wheels/tires
Dadinator replied to Jeep Driver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not a fan of the current trend of black rims. Reminds me of old days when a jalopy's hub caps fell off and the black steel wheel showed. Tj's came with some nice 15 inch varieties and are usually 8" wide. Have the old gamblers on mine. I saw some nice gambler knockoffs with black centers on ebay once. If you like the black look. -
Fender grill front bumper and header from 91 xj ax15-np231 full gauges steering column and a bunch of smaller parts from 90 xj front axle from 95+ xj seats from 2000 dakota bed from different mj tailgate from different mj wheels from tj piece of sheet metal from old dishwasher for rust repair Have newer xj doors, but not installed yet. transfer case shift lever and knob from old snapper mower. Probably a bunch of other crap i am forgetting...

Would like a sticker like that. Do you still have any coozies and hats? How about the windshield decals?

Know not mj issue, but scratching my head. wifes TJ has been fine until last week. 2.5 5sp 1997. When she got off work it would not start. Gas gauge shows E. she said there was gas in it. I Put 2 more gals in it anyway to be sure. Turns over no fire. Fuel pump does not seem to come on. Swapped fuel pump relay. No good. Did some searching and found a couple of threads that suggesred cps or ecu. Something about a 5v output from ecu will cause these symptoms. Another thread suggested a shorted cps will cause this. Pull the wires from cps and if gauge comes back the probable ecu. Well did that. No go. Ordered an ecu and has the same symptoms. Oddly enough, when i plug in the ecu and turn the key on, the gauge will work for a few seconds and then go back to not working. Only the first time after hooking up the ecu. It does that with both ecus. No start. No gas gauge. Any ideas? Anyone run into this before?

I have the craftsman 19.2 as well. Ok not great. The batteries lasted me a couple of years before crapping out. Questions: 1. Do you charge them when they are practically dead or just when you are done? 2. Do you remove them from charger when charged or leave them on until you need them? Just curious. I do not always do what i should, but there is a process.

Manual v.s. auto your guys opinions
Dadinator replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Auto's are for old ladies. ;) ticks me off that you cannot get so many vehicles with manuals anymore. Including 1/2 ton trucks. how much sweeter would a raptor be with a six speed? I converted my mj to a 5 speed. I also read i think in jp that an auto is more likely to leave you stranded if a failure than a manual. -
HUGE change of plans 5.0 302 ci
Dadinator replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Would not be surprised if advance adapters has what you need. A genuine 400hp will be very hard on your drivetrain. Be prepared to break stuff. -

5.0 way more aftermarket support than 318. Good choice. Exploder 5.0's have good heads and intake but very mild cams. Suggest cam swap to really make it sing. that is the route i would go on the wifeys tj if the 2.5 ever gives up. -
A ton of good ones...Rymanrph is one of my favorites.

Fuel leak or vacuum? I would think a fuel leak would smell. -

Hmmm. Fuel pump? Regulator? How much was the gauge and whatever you needed to hook it up? -
Welcome. Yes it is a great site.
