MJ - Off Road V2 Fender Flares
MJCARENA replied to jdougn's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
On the longbed. Can you trim the fuel door where the flare covers it ? -
Looks dirty underneath. I think someone invested too much on a XJ.

Dual diaphragm Upgrade part question.
MJCARENA replied to skidoo_j's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I put a 95/96 XJ booster in my 89 XJ. Drilled the hole bigger and ground the rod end flat (grind a little off at a time till it matches the original thickness from the hole to the flat spot, to much and the brake switch won't work right, don't ask how I know this.) Moved the bottle a little forward and ran new brake lines from the new master to the original prop valve. Also used the spacer that came with it, no bending of the lip needed. Very easy mod. Just working under the dash wasn't much fun. Must be getting old. -
3:55 gears and 33" tires could be the reason for lack of power and poor mileage. Had the same combo then went to 4:56 gears and got my power back.

Fixed my rear bumper after my little modification I did with the wife's Durango. Looks pretty good but not perfect.

New project New person to forum
MJCARENA replied to ExTrEmEmJ86's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Welcome and nice truck. Looks like you got a cargo light and a chrome rear bumper. If you change your rear bumper, don't throw the old one away. -
Modified my rear bumper by backing into the Wifes Dodge Durango in the driveway. :(

Real pretty, what year is it.

What are these wheels called?

I love the look of the turbines, but they do need the center cap. I also think the raised white letters look good on the truck. Just screams 80's -
Serious Idling Issue - (Resolved)
MJCARENA replied to Zenobian_84's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had the same issue with my 89 XJ, 4.0, auto. After about 15 -20 minutes of driving it would idle around 1300 rpm, turn it off and restart it, it could go up to 2500 rpm. It would do this till it cooled off.( sat for a couple of hours or over night). Found that if I disconnected the TPS when this was happening it would drop down to around 600 rpm. Could not get it to idle high as long as it was disconnected. Replaced the TPS and adjusted it,have not had the issue return. But I would fix your vacuum leaks first and see what happens. Hope this helps. -
Very rare to see a Comanche for sale around here. Three in one day. five in one month http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/2986805346.html This has the very rare V6 straight six engine. The rear bumper is different, it is chrome but it does not look factory, but has the factory looking end caps. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/2986901413.html http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/2987020070.html Busy month for selling Comanches http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/2964225232.html http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/cto/2954319180.html

Thanks cruiser54 for this info on the ICU/Coil and CPS. I am not having problems, but will check this out anyway.

That sucks to hear. Your insurance should not go up if it was his fault. I have been hit 5 or 6 times and was always the other guys fault and my rates never went up. Sorry to hear that your in pain, I know how that feels and most people think you are lying because they can't see nothing wrong with you on the outside. Hope you feel better soon. On the other hand, did your dad know that you were going to go wheeling in his car.

Saw one today, brown primer with a red drivers door and a black roof.

Just mine, very rare to see another one. I have only seen four other ones on the road since I have owned mine.

Are the wheel studs too short in this pic or is this just an illusion? Looks like not much thread engagement on the lug nuts. :dunno: I also thought they were short when i put the spacers on, there is 3/4 inch of thread into the lug nuts. I also put the wheels on without the spacer using the same lug nuts and it looks the same.

I think you have the wrong temp sender in it. Sounds like you have the one for the gauge and not the light. The one for the light is a switch type and should just light the light at a steady brightness. The gauge type is a variable resistor and that would make your light change brightness as the engine warms up. The sender for the light type has a slot cut in the end on the threaded part where the wire attaches and the gauge one has no slot.

You can get the exhaust parts from Walker. I ordered my parts thru Autozone, they were cheaper then other places for the same exact parts.

Close. They are the original French Marchal lights. Good quality lights. When the supply started drying up, AMC Jeep went with a similar looking light mfg. in the US, with the lens stamped ROL. These were pure junk, rusted out quickly and are mostly gone now. Close but no cigar, at least Marcel sounds French. Thanks for the correction.

The batman shape is really a cats head, they are made by Marcel.
