Yes it is all in the highlighted part of the bezel, but it is also wider on the sides and a little on top I think to fit the bigger steering column, I gotta dig around to find mine to measure but anyone else with one readily available can feel free to chime in as well
-
I have an idea and I have no idea how hard it would be to make, but an adapter to close the column hole on the 95/96 dash bezels to fit around the 84-94 ones. either closing the hole entirely, or adapt it to fit the older bottom part

Lately I have been playing with towing, and it’s lots of fun, I’ve been building this home made trailer built in the 60’s and trying to restore and upgrade it all at once, as for the MJ towing, so far I think the most I’ve towed is about 3000 lbs with no brake controller and it goes fantastic, braking could always be improved but it is sufficient, plus imo the trailer and truck look really good together

Didn’t know that Pete, that’s good to know, next high trim I see I’ll be sure to snag them, do you know if Chiefs were supposed to come with them or not
-
That’s pretty awesome, I’ve been looking into doing this in my MJ again and it’s definitely doable i just need the time to do it

Key Parts full taillights
jpnjake replied to fiatslug87's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I’d be all over that, especially if they made chrome ones, instead of having to try and fix the folded up originals -
Is my fan overcooling?
jpnjake replied to Airsuperiority's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
On my mj I had the same problem, and my heat would barely work, I then replaced my thermostat and the gauge never hits 210 but it goes just a bit low of it, so I would try that if I were you. -
Reproduction rear window gasket
jpnjake replied to camjeep3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I’d definitely be happy if someone had those reproduced, what I’m very interested in is if he could reproduce the xj/mj vent window surround seal, maybe with some improvements so they wouldn’t leak I’D buy 2 sets of those -
Went to the junkyard yesterday and picked up a liberty renegade roof light set, whenever the headliner gets done this will go on as well Its got that clean factory look to it, will probably replace my bumper lights with just the roof ones

Today I was at the junkyard with my dad and amoung all the cars there was this ford passenger van converted for wheel chair use, and inside was a bench seat that folded closed. I bought it because I was looking for a storing seat for my camper, but upon putting it into the bed of my MJ for the ride home we realized how perfectly it fit, and now I am considering mounting it in my bed Curious as to what everyone’s thoughts are on this

I’ll be there

How to Improve Power Windows
jpnjake replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
How hard is the install of power windows for you, I’m considering doing it myself and am wondering if it’s worth it -
How to Improve Power Windows
jpnjake replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not too sure what to put inside, from my thinking I’m thinking silicone probably isn’t the best along with wd40, I’d look into what the factory used, it’s probably some kinda grease -
How to Improve Power Windows
jpnjake replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had a pretty slow power window on my passenger side of my 2000 xj, what helped it a lot was some silicon spray right into the tracks the windows move up and down on, just make sure you get the stuff that dries and acts like a dry lubricant to not attract dust, then just spray the tracks trying to get the top and bottom of both sides, and then roll the windows up and down a handful of times -
Bucket seats - parts and measurements
jpnjake replied to CO MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You need xj sliding tracks, and the brackets off your mj bench seat you then have to drill out the rivets that hold the brackets to each and mount the mj brackets to the xj sliders, then just use factory 84-94 seats with no problem whatsoever Of corse if you using aftermarket buckets, I see no problem in being able to mount mj brackets to the aftermarket mounts, you could always drill new holes in your floor to mount a different style bracket as well -
Someone take that bumper it’s perfect

OldSch88L 's crooked 1988 Comanche
jpnjake replied to OldSch88L's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I definitely do, this is one sharp truck Thank you very much I’m glad to hear you like it. You truck is awesome And I’m definitely a big sucker for a sports bar and ravine wheels. It’s such a shame there’s not many black Comanches around, they definitely look the best!! -
Dome light seems impossible?
jpnjake replied to JZLAJeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I’ve found that sometimes just continuously moving the light from all its on and off positions it’ll clean the terminals enough to work, it’s worth a shot on pretty much every one I’ve tried
