  1. https://www.amazon.com/Powertrax-LK444430-Grip-Traction-System/dp/B01C8INC60 These are fullcase Dana 44 lockers for 3.92 or deeper gears (4.10's, 4.56's, etc), from Powertrax, the company that makes lockrights and no-slips These Grip-Loks are full lockers, like Detroits, or Grizzlies, I hear they're a little noisier than a Detroit or Grizzly, but other than that, it's hard to go wrong for $336. we bought one, and I'm sure they won't last at this price. Good luck
  2. That was such a great event, actually the one I picked up my 21 slot grill from for 30$!! Hoping to make it back up there next year and hopefully in an MJ, or 2!
  3. Bought the passenger cab corner as soon as they were available for my “Limited” build. The cab corner is amazing, and i certainly can’t complain on it, I will be using it. Just going to point out a couple differences. First I’ll start with the most important, being that the back rib of the cab corner is perfectly smooth on the key parts corner. Comparing below with an NOS cab corner from mopar Missing Rib: As you can also see in the above Photo the drain hole is also missing in the bottom middle of the cab corner. As well the hole in the rear pinch weld is recessed, where as the Key parts is just a flat hole NOS: Keyparts: Finally my last observation is that a few of the bends on the KeyParts cab corner are slightly less sharp and more rounded than the NOS, hard to pickup on camera There are a few other more minor differences but overall very happy with the quality, I will be using on my projects. Key parts for the win yet again!!
  4. Finally up on their website! https://www.keypartsonline.com/86-92-comanche-cab-corner-rh/ https://www.keypartsonline.com/86-92-comanche-cab-corner-lh/ Not on ebay yet though
  5. That’s super awesome, definitely something that makes this truck even more unique! I’ve been looking for one as a wall hanger but I may just have to get one for my limited build
  6. Thats so cool, how hard was it to get wired up with the 84, i know amc liked to leave wires to add options later on
  7. I really can’t believe this, Rip he was always around to help out the newbies or the regulars, genuinely good man I love this, definitely something they both deserve
  8. Hope this helps some, I tracked it down through one of the comments from your old account on one of my posts
  9. Saw this 88 Today, my buddy told me it was there, ended up meeting the owner and their friend who were very nice, They said I made their night by parking next to them and were very excited to talk about Comanches with someone. I wrote down For then to Join us on here, so hopefully they will!
  10. @ExpatMJGuy Here’s a chart my dad made back in the day using factory books and lots of research, only factory 3.73 gears came in 84-86 Trucks
  11. I believe in ditching the VAC disconnect, but you should either: change the selector plate, swap to a T-case with a true neutral, or be careful not to flat tow the Jeep for very far to avoid locking up the old T-cases.
  12. I didn't see it mentioned, but there's one good reason to keep the disconnect working..... if you ever have to flat tow your Jeep. Early 231's with the Vac disconnect switch on them use a different selector plate. ^The early selector plate locks the front and rear driveshafts together (4x4) in Neutral, but unlocks the axle VAC disconnect to keep from binding while towing. Later selector plates had a dedent added along the top profile to disengage the front output in N, making the VAC disconnect unnecessary.
  13. It’s so perfect in there I can’t believe it wasn’t a factory option lol, it’s so so comfy!
  14. Not many updates lately, she’s finally been parked for a winter, here's my latest score, I put my bucket seats in about a year ago, and I went without a center console for a little while, but on long road trips I found myself needing the armrest, so I went and got the 84-96 xj console for it with the cup holder And it stayed like this for about 6 months, until I found an SJ folding center armrest on marketplace, and I hoped it would fit Turns out It’s a perfect fit In The middle of an MJ It matches perfectly, and the leather is so soft, Plus it brings back my favorite part of the 2wd automatic, the blank trans tunnel. And allows me to Finally fit a 3rd person again. All around a very good win, Plus the armrest is way more comfortable than the console lid. Next up, Converting to power windows and installing the limited door panels to finish the interior.
  15. I was thinking the same thing, although black was not an interior option in 89, so either the seller is wrong or the whole black interior was pulled from an sc, but where the truck is also a 2wd 5 speed 4.0 red with black interior, it is very possible the seller got the year wrong, especially considering it was no title. But saying all that, I don’t see any body kit holes in the body from the sc kit.
  16. I really like my stock waggy limited seats in my mj, but recently I picked up a set of wj overland leather seats for my xj, they fit really nice, and are extremely comfortable. And to put them in an mj would be as easy as swapping in 95+ Xj seats. You can even add the armrest to the new style xj console with no modifications.
  17. hi Jeff, did you break in the cam again after you put new lifters in? (1800 to 3000 RPM's for 20 minutes+ when first starting up/don't let it idle for at least 20 minutes) Piston slap is usually the worst when the engine is cold, and the piston clearances are the greatest. Cam wear/cam damage doesn't usually show up as a noise as much as it does lack of lift, so I'm not sure when a cam noise would be the loudest. But it wouldn't surprise me if a noisy cam was quiet when the oil was cold, and it's thickest/highest pressure. I'd pull the valve cover again and see how much lift your getting out of each lobe. Especially the rear cylinder that you said was the noisiest. Good luck.

    Merry Christmas

    Merry Jeepmas everyone
  19. I don’t have any guides that come to mind, I can check my wiring book at home, but other than that it’s just the advice I have. First thing I’d do is unplug the tcm and check for 12v with the key on to see if it’s getting power, if it’s not then your problem is that, if not it’s either the tcm itself or the wiring after the tcm
  20. Here’s some information about how the aw4 works, by default without a tcm hooked up you will have 2 gears, you will have first gear in 1-2 and in 3 and overdrive you will have 3rd gear, definitely an issue with your tcm, getting power to the tcm, or it could be a problem with the wires that control the solenoids in the valve body either way it’s some sort of wiring or module problem, most likely not a transmission problem

    Wheel safe

Hey Jessie, again I’m very sorry to hear about your accident, and am very glad your still with us, like others have said don’t be a stranger, your permanently in the Comanche family. I’ll be sure to add you to my prayers, and I’m hopeful that your recovery goes as well as possible, Just this year I had 2 friends of mine that doctors told would never wake up or walk and talk again after major accidents, just to have one wake up and return to his normal life with minor complications, and the other on a great road to recovery. I wish you the same as them, let us know if there is ever anything you need us to do. -Jake
  22. Not too sure about the others but the humvee ones spin the opposite direction since they are a 2 gear portals. Your forward gears would become your reverse ones.
  23. @88mjsally You got a pretty sweet trailer, I dig the tilt function and that you built it exactly how you wanted, nice work Currently for anything but Jeeps my tow pig is my MJ, have towed somewhere around 4000 lbs in the trailer and probably 1000 in the bed at the same time towed on an old homemade car trailer one of my dads friends had and used back in the 80’s-90’s. Eventually I want to be able to move XJ’s and mj’s locally with my Mj but before that I’ll need a better trailer and trailer brakes. MJ is 3600lbs across the scale with driver and the trailer is 1400 lbs. For anything heavy and far we use my buddy’s brothers truck and trailer, that make long drives very enjoyable
  24. I don’t even know where to start with this one, it was an 86 MJ Custom, but now it’s a crane? Found this on tictok, here’s the profile for anyone wanting to see the very interesting videos https://www.tiktok.com/@inventos.de.hondu?_t=8hdcEPdPbtm&_r=1
  25. That’s really cool, I’d say your truck is alot more grandpa than mine now We actually still have that sportbar too lol, hopefully gonna use it in our chief soon
