Looks and sounds like a good solid starting platform. Around mid spring, I'll be doing the same thing on my 86, minus the 8.25 and 31's though. I'll definitely be watching this one for inspiration, ideas, and how to. :popcorn:

I don't think I've contributed to this thread yet, so here goes. My first car was when I was 14, it was a '56 caddy that I bought for $50. It's sole purpose was to be used in a demo derby. Did quite well too. The first car I bought for road use was when I was 14 as well. It was an '84 Dodge Shelby Charger; 2.2L turbo 5 spd. I could smoke the tires into 3rd gear with that thing. Because of that fact, it made me some good money on bets. :brows: I've "owned" too many cars and trucks to count throughout my derbying days. And if some of you remember, I also used to race dirt track with a '93 Ford Escort wagon (R.I.P.) that got totaled, and landed me in the hospital for a good deal of time. Now, I'm just sticking to my MJ's and loving every minute of them.

I've been looking into this one as well. IIRC, there are a few companies that make the aluminum covers, but as far as I last checked, they were pretty spendy.

It was lil Suzy's first day of 2nd grade. The teacher decided to break the ice by saying that she was from Boston, and as such she was a Patriots fan. She then asked the class how many of them were Patriots fans as well. Wanting to make a good impression on the new teacher, everyone but Suzy raised their hands. The teacher noticed that lil Suzy didn't raise her hand, and asked her why. Suzy responded, "Well, I'm a Jets fan, and proud of it." The teacher asked, "Tell me then why it is that you're a Jets fan?" Suzy said, "It's because my mommy is from New York and is a Jets fan, and my daddy is a Jets fan too, so that make me a Jets fan." The teacher was taken aback by this, and thought for a second, and then said, "Well, what if both your mommy and daddy were mentally challenged, what would that make you then?" With a huge grin on her face Suzy responded, "Then, I'd be a Patriots fan." The teacher fainted. :popcorn:

Since it seems to be slow around here lately, and everyone could use a good laugh after a long day at work, or working on a vehicle that just seems to pi$$ ya off because nothing's going right. So, let's hear em; old ones, new ones, 2 minute readers, one liners, don't matter. An armless man in a long jacket walks into a bathroom and stands by a urinal... Soon seeing he needs help to use the toilet he asks a closeby man, " Can you help me point my penis" ? The man reluctantly accepted but, decided not to look at the mans penis. After a few seconds of holding it he thinks, " Hey! I'm grabbing it right"? " So I should look, I have a right"! He looks down at the mans member and sees that is beyond hidious. Startled he jumps back and lets go, asking. " What the hell is wrong with it ?" The "armless" man pulls his arms out of his jacket and says "I dunno, but, I ain't touchin' it." and walks away

Wow, that slowed my computer down for almost a minute. And I built this thing myself with almost the best parts I could afford a couple years ago. Makes me think it's time for some updating to it. :brows:

He admitted that it was originally a 5 speed! The VIN plate even shows it; just that after the dealership was done with their use of it, the first owner that bought it, bought it with the 4 speed instead. Now, whether the original tranny was weak and/or blew up or not, is disputable, but regardless, it was bought FROM the dealership WITH the 4 speed. I GIVE UP :hateputers: :headpop:

I am not doing anything. All I am doing is stating the facts and you can't face the facts. Actually, as I'm reading it, you're stating 99.9% of the facts that Jeepco already stated. All you're doing is putting them in your own words attempting to make him look bad. I've read this thread thoroughly, and have seen his truck firsthand, and can tell you that what he's stated is in fact correct. Look back on your own posts in here, and then read his more closely; notice anything? THEY'RE ALMOST IDENTICAL!! Put the pipe down, get off your high horse, get your head out of your @$$, and come back to the real world. Only then will you be treated with more respect. I apologize to those who know me and know I'm not usually like this. Can we please get back to the subject that this thread was originally meant to be about?
