  1. Lol, nope, never delivered pizza before but did graduate high school in 09. Pizzaman09 was my old screen name from playing Halo, just figured I'd keep using it.
  2. I'm not big on paying insurance companies and never getting anything out of it. So I just self insure and over the years have come out way ahead compared to what I would have ever paid a company. That said, I live in an area with relatively little traffic but an overpopulation of deer and don't own any actually valuable vehicles. My MJ is probably my most valuable vehicle and it has 269k miles on it.
  3. Did you swap the master to the LMC206 when you did the external slave swap?
  4. Yeah, mine is probably double the force required compared to the old internal slave cylinder. Is there a different master used on the external slave setup? I reused my master as it was almost new.
  5. I didn't realize there was supposed to be a piece of rubber there, mine rattles too. Subscribed to learn more!
  6. I assume you are talking about this photo. That steel pipe connects to the bottom of the expansion tank, heater core and the rubber hose that runs up the left side of the upper radiator hose. The cooling system you have should be more similar to an HO Comanche or XJ than a Renix one. I don't think this steel pipe would be applicable in the HO setup.
  7. Hopefully these help. The two modifications you will note are the addition of factory cruise control and the plug for a Renix engine monitor on the large diagnostics port.   8. Absolutely fantastic trip! Reminds me of buying my first Comanche that we drove through that way on the way home. I have lots of pics of it in Monument valley, many of those photos were featured in the bring a trailer and when we sold it. I really want to get my stock Comanche out there some day to drive it on the slick rock.
  9. The vacuum storage tank is usually on the front bumper, left side if you are standing in front looking at the front of the truck. I totally forgot to do this today, tomorrow after work I'll take the photos.
  10. Just love it. An awesome, low Comanche with an epic wrap. Not for my current one but this one makes the wheels turn for if I want to build one someday.
  11. I suspect krustys is what you are looking for, but I did want to throw out there a not quite as good option. I tow with a ball mounted on my Westin Fey bumper. I did have to weld chain hooks to it, but otherwise it works wonderfully. I'll admit I've towed around 5k with it, the bumper has 3000lbs max capacity stamped into it. I love how sturdy it is, no rattle from the hitch loosely fitting into the receiver.

  13. Exactly! The Bosch one was very slow, like 30 seconds to toggle back and forth based on what my REM was showing. The NTK is super quick. The NTK fixed my lean rough idle.
  14. I tried a Bosch when I first purchased my truck 3 years ago based on my success with Bosch for other vehicles O2 sensors. It was a mistake, the sensor was super slow to respond and would slowly wave back and forth from rich to lean over and over again. I purchased the recommended NTK sensor and it fixed everything. I had a smooth idle and more power just about everywhere.
  15. All excellent suggestions. Another easy one to check that has caused miss fires for me is engine ground. Make sure the block actually has a good ground.

  19. I was just thinking this. I swapped from 225/75 R15 light truck tires to 235/75 R15 BFG KO2 all terrain tires that are knobby in the sides. When I turn hard left they will run on the lower control arm, of which the 225s didn't. I keep meaning to look into whether I can adjust or add a steering stop.
  20. I'm in the field of designing elastomeric bearings for helicopter rotors. About 50:50 defense and civil. Right now is a fine time to be in defense. All of those sound like fun industries.
  21. Having worked with many Italians, it would be a panino. Panini is the plural, sandwiches. Absolutely awesome adventure! I drove from Marseille, France via Nice and onto Genoa, Italy before turning north or Milano last year for work. The Mediterranean coast was amazing, the blue water like in your one shot was incredible.
  22. Good stuff, I am a Mechanic Engineer myself. What do you want to do when you are done with school? Totally understand the desire to want to be in the southwest and your choice to go to school there.
  23. Completely agree! I could regale you with a dozen anecdotes of vintage cars driven regularly working great and not so vintage stuff not driven frequently that do not run well. I have a 62 Austin Healey Sprite that I put 1500-2000 miles ago year on. I can get into it at anytime and just know it will start and run well. Original dual carbs and points ignition, driven rain or shine, it works.
  24. Awesome! I actually purchased my first Comanche in Los Angeles and drove it 2500 miles home. A complete no known history Craigslist purchase. It was a brilliant trip and I am crazy enough to do it again, particularly since my current Comanche has cruise control, air conditioning and bucket seats, of which my pteione had none of those options.
  25. It's a dream of mine to get my Comanche out there, and Easter Jeep safari would be a great time. That said, the 1800 mile drive is a serious treck. I've flown out there a few times and rented off road vehicles, I'm so jealous of the dry slick rock off roaring compared to everything out east is pretty much just mudding.
