  1. I had lost mine for half a year when I let a friend fix the speakers. It turns out it was in the bottom of the door cavity. It is worth checking to see if you find it there.
  2. Indeed, we probably burned 1/4 of that wood yesterday as our geothermal heat pump was acting up yesterday. It's a beautiful snowy week here along lake Erie but also a bit cold in the 20s.
  3. Almost true. Old Jags were numbered with #6 at the front and #1 at the bulkhead. Thus causing much confusion for people in timing them.
  4. I'm trying to understand, what do you mean by it cranks but won't turn over?
  5. If you had the valve cover off, did you bump a connection to a sensor like MAP sensor?
  6. Since it is free, it is worth checking to see if the manifold bolts are tight.
  7. That part has definitely seen fatigue damage. I bet there is a broken stub of thread in your torque converter.
  8. Congratulations on the new one! A last minute 9 hour drive is not trivial.
  9. I don't know anything about the particular car, but my similar vintage 99 BMW M3 ABS pump had a bleeder screw on it. It was practically undocumented but after bleeding it, it fixed my soft pedal and odd ABS performance. Maybe the Avalon has something similar?
  10. This is an awesome truck! I'm surprised you took the graphics off. Getting new tires and fixing the motor mount issue is great, when vehicles are more comfortable to drive/ride in, the more they get used.
  11. Happy Christmas Everyone! My MJ is getting a transfer case output bushing and seal for Christmas. My you stay less stuck in the snow than my brother's attempt to blast though the snow in our friends driveway.
  12. I don't know but it sounds like you have the parts at hand to find out for us! 😜 I kind of doubt it will be plug and play.
  13. My point in gasket matching was did you port and polish the head and intake to match their shapes at the interference to clean up air flow? All of your proposed color schemes will look great. I would personally suggest the blue, my truck is black and it looks dirty one day after washing it usually. White is a bit more resilient to dirt but eventually starts looking grungie.
  14. Did you take the opportunity to gasket match the intake to the head while apart? This is a nice resto. Really dig the simple black on white sport truck graphics.
  15. I've seen an alternator locked solid on an XJ, if the balancer rubber is weak, then maybe it powers through and slips instead of burning the belt up.
  16. What is the condition of the harmonic balancer rubber? Could the center be spinning inside the outer ring?
  17. Yes they are just plug and play. I pulled out the old reverse light bulbs and put these in.

    Hello again

It's a pleasure to meet you! Looking forward to the pictures.
  19. From my build thread: Upgraded reverse lights with these light bulbs based on someone's recommendation on the forum. https://www.amazon.com/AUXITO-Lumens-Replacement-Backup-Reverse/dp/B07W7HQPZF?pd_rd_w=6gfht&content-id=amzn1.sym.55bebd03-1feb-4883-a1f4-21b3be773289&pf_rd_p=55bebd03-1feb-4883-a1f4-21b3be773289&pf_rd_r=9E39KKAW1QJP61GG399Y&pd_rd_wg=2heao&pd_rd_r=bc776f05-5ffb-48a9-9a7e-884b8e70f0e3&pd_rd_i=B07W7HQPZF&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_m_grid_rp_0_1_i They are awesome. Final install. New on left old on right. Lighting up what's behind. You would barely see that garage with the original lights.
  20. That's a good enough reason for me! Hopefully the engine is easier to work on in a Comanche, I've seen some videos of those tuned port SBC engines and they look challenging to work on with their factory accessories.
  21. Of you are going to build it, do what you want. If you want a manual, do it with a manual. Out of curiosity, why the tuned port SBC?
  22. Indeed! The adapter was developed for the M57 diesel, which has the same bell housing pattern as the S50/S52/S54. Personally I want something rev happy and naturally aspirated. It would be a hit in low end torque compared to the 4.0L but that can be made up with rear end gearing. Also, my 4x4, 4.0L short bed MJ weights 3400lbs, which is within 100lbs of my 99 BMW e36 M3. That says the power to weight ratio of said swap is likely to create a wonderful result.
  23. Now that's a rock!
  24. You've reminded me of a problem I came across recently on a friend's Cadillac. We replaced a caliper and absolutely could not get it to bleed. Upon close inspection we found that the bleeder hole was not fully drilled through. Always worth checking the new parts are built correctly when running into an issue.
  25. My dream build would be a lowered MJ with an engine swap from a 90s or early 2000s BMW M3. The adapter plate to an AX-15 transmission already exists for those engines.
