87 Comanche dude

So I thought I had the AX-15, but it now appears that I have the Peugeot BA10/5😡. Where are the fill and drain plugs on this thing? Am I right in assuming that BA10/5s could be in a 1987 MJ 4.0L manual 5 speed?

I have a base model 87 MJ 4.0 L, 5 speed manual (No AC). My alternator went out. I plan to add AC this Spring. 1. What amp alternator should I get to handle the load? 2. What amp alternator should I get if I add AC, power door locks & power windows? Thanks!

A mechanic replaced my ECU in 2012. He got one from a jy. So for curiosity’s sake, I looked at it last week. It has a piece of tape on it that states “AUTO”. I have a manual 5 speed and it works fine, which falls in line with Cruisers posts on the issue. The original sticker number on it is 56006078. From researching comments on this forum dealing with ECU’s, I see that it works fine in my 87 base unit MJ with the 4.0 L. Apparently it’s an upgrade and predecessor to the #’s 428/429’s. MY QUESTIONS ARE: What model year did it come from? Does it increase the HP in the 4.0 L? If so to what HP? Does it have the other improvements programmed into the 89 & 90 models with 428’s and 429’s in them? I just want to know what ECU I have. Thanks for any help!!

I can locate the 2 contact door jamb switch (GP Sorensen JS39). Thanks Wildman! But where do I find the passenger side single contact switch?

I understand the ECU (428 & 429) compatibility between the 89 and 90 XJ’s and my 87 MJ. But………..Will an ECU from a 1989 “Grand Cherokee” with a 4.0 work in my 87 Comanche MJ 4.0 with a 5 speed manual ?
