  1. poop should have bought one then $400.00
  2. sounds like its priming, I would see if ecu is providing ground to fuel pump relay terminal 85 at relay and power at 86 ign.
  3. Did you search #P4529334 the HP ecu that was called out in my Jeep book, there was 26 in the US back when I got the book mid 90s
  4. Are these MOPAR?
  5. DON'T - takes a lot of special tools, there are at least 18 ball bearings that must be put back in place and adjustments that must be made very fiddly work. See if there are any U-tube videos to watch before you attempt this job
  6. This is an easy one, mark driveshaft to yoke position so shaft goes back the same seal can be pried out with a long screwdriver do not damage tailshaft seal can be driven in with small hammer or large socket don't hit rubber parts and lube seal with grease or vasoline in area of garter spring so it doesn't pop off seal put shaft back on yoke to where it came off, have at it.
  7. when replacing cables rear shoes should be adjusted while the cables are backed off then adjust nut for parking brake I always adjust so lever has no less than six clicks of the lever, if initial adjustment is hard to obtain rear drums may need resurfaced
  8. Has anybody looked at the NADA price guides lately?
  9. Rock Auto shows two Pacesetter headers
  10. great glad to hear that, I wonder how Hudy made out. I put a note in last night about the axle leak, its not a bad job just take your time
  11. this isn't a tough job if its a c-clip pretty simple if its held with four bolts still not to bad, most have two seals be carefull with inner seal pack inside of seal around garter spring with thick grease to keep spring in place I have had one pop off while driving it in then new seal is needed, don't let axle drag heavy over seal when putting back in place if bearing is pressed on axle you will have to remove retainer ring to remove bearing to get to outer seal I always replace all pieces because I have no press, I use a wiz wheel to cut it all off, a heavy piece of pipe the diameter of inner race works well to knock it all back together be sure to pack bearing
  12. sounds like ground problem since all gauges are affected, I had a XJ with same condition, ground strap from cyl. head bolt to firewall was not there made one up all ok
  13. If your state has emission testing and you drive on the street likely to need to pass inspection
  14. proper pilot bearing should be available from Advance Adapters about $40.00 if I remember right. If I were you get entire XJ so you have everything
  15. I will look for it thanks
  16. haven't figured out how to do that yet looked all over forum and can't find instructions I'm an old fart slow to learn this stuff just got first cell phone last year
  17. not a cat. this is mopar book on building jeep engines titled JEEP ENGINES speed secrets & racing modifications for jeep-built 4,6,&V8 engines bought it at the dealership I worked at mid 1990s
  18. My mopar performance book for Jeep engines says part #P4529334 is for 4.0L 87-90 provides increased fuel flow and more spark advance at heavy throttle part # may have been superseded book part #P5249586
  19. www.repairconnector.com found this elsewhere in this forum
  20. you say you push on fuse and it works sounds like a bad connection to me, something to try if you know how fuse was oriented in block - darker side up or down, take a male spade connector or narrow feeler gauge of like thickness insert into fuse block terminal to check tension and then compare to a location that is not getting hot I believe you should be able to feel a difference. When my turn signal fuse was melting with the signals on and pushing on fuse I could see arcing on the burnt side of the fuse it was loose connection causing this
  21. watch U tube test video JUNK!!!!!!!
  22. Bottom pic. I like the blacked out look
  23. I had hot starting problems do to fuel leaking through pressure reg. Several other members found same problem. I am waiting to hear from them if replacing reg. cured their problems as well. Depending on amount of fuel leaking into intake could also cause cold problems. All of us with this leak had good pressure that seemed to hold, worth a check
  24. Could weather be playing a part in this problem? Have you inspected dist. cap button to rotor contact, tracking inside cap, sometimes a spray bottle of water and misting around ing. cap and wires will show arcing best seen at night or low light, a lot of times wet engine will act like this. I ask this after seeing you are in CT. and your XJ pic shows snow. How long has this been gong on?
  25. there is no headlamp relay unless added, circuit breaker is 25 amp and is part of the switch don't know of any good way of testing. Advance auto $22.00 easy enough to replace if you drop lower dash and remove steering column brace to left kick panel inspect plug closely. I am assuming this problem occurs with out trailer hooked up
