  1. Why not? Rare doesn't mean valuable, so if he could get them out of a Corvair cheaper than he could buy them, I say go for it. Corvairs aren't really worth much and, if the car is already in the scrapyard, its better someone uses the parts than they get crushed. Using your logic, nobody should 97+ swap their MJ because MJs are rare and 97+ XJs are getting rarer.
  2. Agreed. I think $2,200 would be a good ask for the truck and it might be a decent buy at $1,500-$1,800.
  3. I love the older higher trim door panels.
  4. That price is definitely steep, can't lie about that. It is clear that it had a very low quality paint job. I say that because of the now body color tailgate handle and the fact that they didn't paint the door jambs. I would guess that the paint is covering up something that is not pretty. The pictures leave quite a bit to be desired too. If you are asking that much money for a 33 year old truck, you better take really good pictures of it. I think even half of their asking price would be a little bit on the high side.
  5. Is that your lifted red truck? I thought that truck was always red. Also, is that your unstoppable minivan behind it?
  6. Oh yeah
  7. I’m ready to send the money!
  8. Thanks! I’m trying to get there one piece at a time. I will probably replace the front bumper with an OEM one if I find an OEM brushguard. I’m in WI. We are only allowed 4 white lights in use one the road.
  9. I think I do want to start getting chrome pieces.
  10. I should see if I can come up with one of those. I did do some looking at them, but never came up with a ton more to add to my list. Your old school look in your truck is why I wanted to give my truck an old school look.
  11. Thanks! I will definitely see if I can find some yellow shock boots and I’ll look into getting some Daylighters. The wheels on my truck are from the 80s so, for now, I’m going to stick with them. I will probably get raised white letter tires next.
  12. Thanks!
  13. Thanks, I want to go to the JY in the spring and get a chrome front end, at some point (maybe next spring or summer) I want to add 2ish inches of lift, and I am thinking 4 daylighters on the sportbar. I was also thinking that maybe I should get the white and red Skyjacker shocks when I get more lift.
  14. I'm trying to give my MJ a more 80s/90s look as you can see with the stripes, wheels, and soon to be my sportbar. I am thinking of getting 4 lights to go across the sportbar (probably would just be there for looks) and I am wanting 2 on the front bumper (so I can see better at night). Are there any other things that I should look at adding to my truck to give it more of an old school look? I couldn't think of much else, but I didn't live in these eras. From what I am finding, a chrome front end would maybe give it more of an old school look, but again, I'm looking for suggestions and ideas.
  15. I know that I want SMJ #1

Do you know what brand your leafs are? Are you happy with their ride/hauling capacity?
  17. Thanks. I think my issue was that I didn’t have the parking brake set.
  18. Let’s go to the badlands sometime. I’ll even wheel the blue truck if it isn’t too gnarly.
  19. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get that NOS gate for?
  20. I installed a different starter solenoid, and it is still not cranking. I will need to do some more digging a different day. I am assuming either this new starter solenoid (different brand before) is also bad, I must have broke a wire when I was hooking stuff back up.
  21. Anything is possible with enough time and money. What purpose is the truck going to serve for you?
  22. A agree with the grey in the XJ. I think that either tan or grey would also be most common in the MJ. Grey seems to be the most common in 90-92 trucks.
  23. I love the color matched grills and headlight bezels that the Eliminators had.
  24. Looks like a good candidate just to make into a driver and use, or restore, or make into an offroad rig, it really looks like a great starting point no matter what you decide to do with it.
