  1. Today we decided to replace the fuel tank. We got it up on the lift and pulled the old one out. Then we decided that we didn’t like how low the car sat, so we did the right thing and abandoned the fuel tank project and lifted the rear end instead. That is with the rear tires on the ground.
  2. Nah, I tinker with tractors. I work quickly on cars. This one won’t take a ton get get it road worthy.
  3. The Eagle has landed, safe and sound. It’s a super solid car being from AL. It needs some work, it does have some rust that I need to fix and the driver seat springs are broken, plus I want to add my lift and swap carbs to a better one, but it ran and drove which is super exciting!
  4. That’s my dream MJ too.
  5. Yessir! Bumblee’s redneck cousin, Cockroach. It is really nice being able to lift the whole front end off. One of my favorite things about old cars. These old vehicles come apart so nicely.
  6. Progress on getting the engine out.
  7. Oh she’ll move. Hopefully it will get half decent fuel mileage too.
  8. Welcome! Be sure to drop yourself in the original owners thread.
  9. Not sure on a rebuild kit. Luk for the other stuff.
  10. @Minuit, could you do something like this with your floor braces?
  11. Can you change your surgery? Lol, I’m kidding. Would your wife wheel you around in a wheelchair?
  12. 74k mile LS getting cleaned up to go in the yellow truck. The orange truck is giving up its axles for the yellow truck and is being parted out.
  13. Do any of you have hotel reservations? We are looking at getting ours soon and we were wondering where everyone else is staying. Do we want to look at meeting somewhere so we can all roll into the show together?
  14. AC has nothing to do with the computer. Check out Section 3, Step 6. It sounds fairly straight forward to keep the automatic computer. The other thing to remember, and I often forgot this, is that you are a kid. You don’t have money and you don’t have a ton of time. If you want to get the truck to Moab for the MJ takeover in September, I think you should come up with a list of important things that need to get done first. My list for that would look like this: 1. Make it reliable 2. Winch and bumpers 3. Gears and lockers 4. Lift (AX-15 swap here. Only get driveshafts made once) 5. Wheels and tires 6. Body armor 7. Make the interior more pleasant 8. Make the truck pretty Now if the stock Renix harness has some Cleetus and Bubba cousin-brother hacking into it and your HO harness is good, that would be the only reason I’d swap it.
  15. Oooooo, tilt column. Make sure you hang on to that one. You’re not going to really get any advantage by swapping to the OBD1 HO. Just get an REM.
  16. What would I do? AX-15 swap it. Realistic answer, though, get it rebuilt.
  17. I’d be down for a firearms thread. Did you know that you can fit 1 bag of golf clubs and 2 shotguns behind the seat of a bench seat MJ with the seat all the way back?
  18. I’d say run it how it is for a while then. Learn how to drive it now, that way you don’t accidentally wreck a new transmission.
  19. I hate to rain on your parade, but the HO cluster is not a plug and play swap in a Renix truck. Bout time you got an AX-15. How many miles does it have? Does the AX-15 go into all of the gears right and work well?
  20. Yes I did, even though I told him it was useless.
  21. Colt 45? I can’t read what it says behind COLT. I really want one of those and a Smith and Wesson 1911. For now though, I’m think a Smith and Wesson SD9VE would hold me over.

    free food!

I love spicy and dark meat. You’re really missing out. Where was the food from?
  23. Well, I sold the less-nice tractor today. I really didn’t need it. It was nice to have when we were doing some projects, but we don’t do a ton of projects where we need two.
  24. I think you will regret selling the XJ. I thought you loved your Subaru?
