I know the current ignition system on the Eagle is FoMoCo (getting replaced with an HEI) and I will be installing a Motorcraft carb that is considered an upgrade.

I never considered that. Although, I’m not sure what kind of readings it would get about either.

I believe it to be just a regular carb. Thanks for the help everyone!

1986 AMC Eagle 4.2 auto, 2.73 gears My first car and latest project.

We were looking under the hood of my Eagle and saw the Renix diagnostic ports. Does anyone here know anything about these? Would my REM work in it? I wound guess that it would, but I have no clue why the port is there.

Awesome. An OEM transfer case skid is on my list because I already have the others, but I’m not going to be buying anytime soon because of my Eagle. Good luck with the hunt!

I’d assume you are looking for a metal fuel tank skid? Those things are a PITA to install. Very worth it though.

Ending out and new one mocked up. We can even reuse the original Jeep trans mount.

Today we decided to replace the fuel tank. We got it up on the lift and pulled the old one out. Then we decided that we didn’t like how low the car sat, so we did the right thing and abandoned the fuel tank project and lifted the rear end instead. That is with the rear tires on the ground.

Nah, I tinker with tractors. I work quickly on cars. This one won’t take a ton get get it road worthy.

The Eagle has landed, safe and sound. It’s a super solid car being from AL. It needs some work, it does have some rust that I need to fix and the driver seat springs are broken, plus I want to add my lift and swap carbs to a better one, but it ran and drove which is super exciting!

Yessir! Bumblee’s redneck cousin, Cockroach. It is really nice being able to lift the whole front end off. One of my favorite things about old cars. These old vehicles come apart so nicely.

Progress on getting the engine out.

Oh she’ll move. Hopefully it will get half decent fuel mileage too.

74k mile LS getting cleaned up to go in the yellow truck. The orange truck is giving up its axles for the yellow truck and is being parted out.

Do any of you have hotel reservations? We are looking at getting ours soon and we were wondering where everyone else is staying. Do we want to look at meeting somewhere so we can all roll into the show together?
