  1. Here is some info if you have a 4.0 and are keeping it Renix.
  2. Ooof, hopefully she gets healed up quick. That looks like an expensive one to fix too.
  3. If I had the money, this would be tucked in next to my blue truck. I really want a longbed to go with my shortbed, and I would want one pretty loaded up.
  4. I think I know the difference, just from looking at both axles. I think the AMC35 has a big nut right at the center of the brake drum.
  5. Update, I hate D35s! Wellllllllllllllll, I was driving to school today when, after pulling away from the stop sign near my house, I hear a horrendous grinding noise. I pulled over to turn around to go home. It was a pretty tight driveway so I had to back into it to turn around because I didn’t want to back onto the highway. When I put it back in drive, now we have neutral and a terrible squealing noise. Turns out, the D35 (or probably an AMC35) rear just decided to give out. Perfect.
  6. Well, the clutch and brakes are freed up. Now we just need to make sure it will all be working correctly before we put the tractor back together.
  7. Well, it snowed for the first time over the weekend. Good gracious this car starts great, even in the cold.
  8. Well, we played with the engine a little more today. We pulled the exhaust manifolds and spark plugs. The valves and plugs all looked pretty good. I forgot pictures, I’ll see about some tomorrow.
  9. Being that it’s a 3 speed auto, it probably does not have 4.56s, but don’t quote me on that. I’d guess you more than likely have 3.55s seeing as though that’s what the 4cyl 4 speed manual trucks had.
  10. Hunter green is hands down my favorite color on an MJ.
  11. After some consideration, we are now considering putting this engine in my grandpa’s unfinished 40 Chevy pickup project. That is still TBD though.
  12. I’ve been subscribed for a while now
  13. This is BS
  14. FWIW, the overheating issue in my 89 was the radiator. I went from a closed loop system to a Mishimoto open loop radiator with a 2.5L Renix overflow tank and I haven’t had an issue since—never even exceeds 210. It could just be that the radiator has some corrosion in it not cooling effectively.
  15. When you swap the speedo, you ought to set it to zero too. Just to be a little different.
  16. Mmm, I’ve heard of this, but never actually heard any experiences. Definitely interesting.

Best MJ story- The drive home when purchased! It had a slipping clutch, so bad it would hardly move. My father took me to pick it up, and followed me home, it was funny, because it would take miles to get her up to 55mph, and always seemed we had to slow back down about the time I made it to 55. We had traffic following us for miles! LOL When we finally made it home, we pulled the transmission thinking it needed a new clutch, when we pulled the clutch plate we found that the entire thing was packed full of mouse nest material, and was keeping the almost brand new clutch plate from engaging all the way, and causing the slip! CC is Awesome! Why? because we can all come together, and show off our Manches and Shoot the breeze! Long live CC!! Congrats @p0lel0ck! I really like seeing these trucks that have been 100%, or nearly 100% DIY.
  18. Any updates on the truck @p0lel0ck?
  19. You should be fine then. Most engines make more oil pressure cold than they do warm. What did the oil pressure look like before you did the work on it? What were outside temps then? I'd let the truck warm up for 5 minutes and then check the oil pressure. Also, you may want to add a signature with details about your truck. There is a video posted in the issues/ideas/testing section of the forum.
  20. Is the engine warm or cold when making that much oil pressure? If that is on a cold start, I wouldn't be concerned.
  21. Mistakes happen, I’m sure most of us have all had some stupid mistake that we’ve done while working on our MJs. On the bright side, you may be able to find a really nice set cheap since those wheels aren’t super desirable.
  22. What color did you go with on the block out of curiosity?
  23. So, it looks like the wheel arches are getting rusty, the cab corners are getting rusty, the rockers are getting rusty, the lower half is bedlined (with what looks like a crappy roll on job), it’s a 4cyl truck with a D35, and they still want almost $11000 for it?!? It makes you wonder what they are smoking.
