Yes you want to knock out that roll pin. If you have a screwdriver or something small enough you just tap it out with that and a hammer.

I went looking for an xj overhead console but there were none. There were a few zj overhead consoles but I don't think they would work

I found one from a 2000. Needs a good cleaning though but complete and not melted.

I may have a line on a short bed tailpipe local to me (mass) I can look into it. I just recently helped someone with a 2.8 mj Y pipe that was discontinued.

It looks like the interior is 96 swapped but the drivetrain honestly looks like it's a 97+ The ecu looks like one from a later style xj with the metal case. The 96 used the plastic case for the ecu and one plug instead of 3? It has. It might be the 97+ harness in the engine bay and 96 harness in the cab and they aren't compatible? Or someone has modified and done a really good job making it look factory

It's discontinued from Walker and you cannot find it new anymore. I got lucky and got an old stock one from a local mom and pop parts store and the list price was $88. Only reason I bought it is someone here on the forum needed one and couldn't not find one anywhere.

If it's bone stock then there's not a whole lot to save. Exhaust manifolds. The Y pipe if it's in good shape is apparently unobtanium.

As I've come to learn, q lot of the Midwest to western yards will still sell the vehicle out of the yard. There are some places that won't but It really varies from yard to yard. It never hurts to ask Around here on the east coast.. once it's in the yard there's no saving it. It's a goner. Which is unfortunate.

Very true but you wouldn never know unless you asked right? At this point though it's likely gone. But it would have been a good clean start otherwise to a likely too far gone jeep or a different build.

I actually saw that too and thought that was way too clean to be parting out. I wanted to post on it about that but many already had qnd I didn't want to get worked up with a guy who in my first impression didn't seem to care. So good to know he's a scam artist. I sure do hope that mj is not actually his and it's not being parted though!

You are in luck! They do have one, specifically for the 2.8 mj. They actually have two, one at each store. If you wanted them both. They are going to call me back tomorrow to talk about shipping and price. I might have to ship it for you.

I will say, my best friend works qt a parts store and they have all they old school walker pipes you can't get anymore. Last I was told they had one or two Y pipes for the 2.8 mj. They were going to be clearing stock soon so I have to ask if they still have them. If they do we are on the east coast and they will ship.

I got covid the second week into December and I had one of the two shots. It hit me hard. Aches so bad it hurt to move. The worst chills I've ever had, shivering while wrapped in blankets. And one day I felt almost too weak to move. But I came out of it okay. Took an extra week after quarantine to get back to 100%. Lost my sense of smell for 3 days and that was it.

Let me know if you'd want to sell the tailgate. But nice score. Sad it's so rough.
