  1. Wanting to swap a 88 4.0 engine that was matched with an automatic with a 4 speed from an 88 with 2.3. Will flywheels need changed ? Will the manual bellhousing with clutch and pressure plate bolt up to the 4.0? The 4.0 was from a 88 Cherokee and the vehicle that it is being installed in is a 88 Comanche and was already previously a manual.
  2. Will the carburetor off a S10 V6 around 1986 fit the Comanche V6? This engine has a BUNCH of vacuum lines. What all can be deleted if any? Been sitting 7 years. All lines have been chewed on and dry rotted. Looking at getting a reman carb. Looks around 470.00 at Autozone. Any cheaper suggestions? Already pulled and cleaned gas tank and purged the fuel lines. Have had it running but runs rough and won't stay running.
  3. You are absolutely right. I’m not on site. My son had taken it out. Hopefully his 88 sending unit will swap as they seem hard to get. Thanks!
  4. Was hoping to swap gas tanks from the 88 to the 86. The 88 is a short bed so maybe that’s why they won’t interchange. Pulled the fuel pump assembly from the 86. Is coated with really black crud. This truck sat for 7 years. Trying to purchase new fuel pump and all I’m getting is a mechanical one shown. Anyone have a part number for the in tank fuel pump assembly?
  5. 1JTWL6578GT000927 Found in alabama. Has V6 5speed AC PS bucket seats. Also 4x4 Hope I did this right. Added picture of rear differential
  6. Been awhile since I’ve been here. My sons 88 got broad sided and “totaled” but the old girl still runs and drives. Anyway. Just picked up another one. It’s an 86 with the V6 5speed 4x4. Has power steering and air. Absolute complete vehicle. All I see missing is the shifter boot. Been sitting for 7 years. Will crank and start. Will need all the vacuum lines replaced due to rodents. Here’s the VIN. I’ve tried looking it up. Haven’t got much info. You guys are the pros. 1JTWL6578GT000927. Looking for the build sheet if it’s to be had. Thanks !
  7. What type buckets will fit I would go that route if easier
  8. Is there any where to purchase an after market bench seat cover with the cut out.
  9. Bought a 1988 Comanche as a project for my son and I. We are fixing it up gradually. All the lights work but the dash lights. Come to find out the headlight switch and its connector had gotton hot and melted. It's a wonder any lights worked. The switch itself seems easy to get but having a hard time finding a repair connector pigtail. I have googled my self to death. HELP!!
