Took care of the floor patch next. Felt easy so I wanted to get it out of the way Sealed up and done. Welded the brace on and went back k to working on the rocker. Had to find a section for the bottom of the A pillar/ rocker. Which I did end up finding from a 98 grand cherokee si trim. Ironically and sad also a rare zj lol Fender fit for lines and holes for the fender to bolt to the rocker. I ended up buying a nutsert tool and it has made life easier for this project. Drill a hole, add a nutsert. Move on. No welding in nuts or nut and bolt.

Big dump and very long overdue update. Still working on this. But I am THIIIIIIS close to being done. The rust is GONE. From the last time I posted I was working on the driver side firewall and rocker corner. I have made monstrous progress. Starting with cutting all the rust out. It got cold so I rolled it into the garage and continued my work. Part of the floor, inner rocker, brace. And unibody were cut away. Starting with that little unibody spot so I can get the brace welded up and then inner rocker.

Little round one looks like it might be a cap to the rear bumper

'95 zj and '88 mj compatibility
The86manche replied to bmurray7's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I wouldn't say necessarily true. A/c compressor is located in the same place between the xj and zj and the 4.0 is virtually the same with sensors and mounts (depending on the year) The trans might be another story, and the wiring for sure.. -
I love watching junkyard digs. His channel is really funny and enjoyable.

I'd be interested in a set as well!

Tailgate Straightening

As far as I know there isnt.. if you go this method you could use some thick metal as a brace/reinforcement on the inside -
Could find an identical one that's too far gone with good vin and swap to save it? Maybe? Good save either way!
-
Are you sure that'd an ax4? 4.0 should have an ax15. Have you done a service to the trans? New oil? Or checked the old metal for chunks or shavings?
-
Doubt it is still available but...

Why is it so very far away from me I want it! 😫 -
If you don't mind the low pinion, can always swap the whole axle then

Zj grand cherokees. Limited trim will have 3.73s. I have a 3.73 ring and pinion but it's from a 35 I don't know if it would work for a 30..
-
I had one in my 5.9 grand cherokee and it took all the abuse a gave it. That being said, it's still better than a d35 lol
-
Ford 8.8 is another swap people do too. And you can keep your 5x4.5 bolt pattern too. And also discs.
-
The zjs had a d44a and were pretty tough axles. I beat on mine and had no issues. But you are right about the lack of aftermarket support.. it's very limited.
