  1. Is nobody going to talk about WHY a jeep that looks that clean inside is in the junkyard?? Or those seats!
  2. Both are my favorite
  3. I actually did find a comanche that had both of them. It was a weird assortment of options and it only had driver side as the passenger side door was replaced. It was this short bed pioneer. And it was rather base model weirdly too.
  4. Tonight i vacuumed the floor threw the front and rear seat back in. I used stainless bolts for the front seat. And threw the doors on by myself. That was stressful. She looks really good again! Its been months since shes been together. I have discovered some minor electrical issues and i have a few more things to address but nearing completion! The front door window switch isnt getting power and the rear door window does not work on its own. From the master switch i can control 3 windows, except the passenger front. And i think the front and rear door work on a circut so if the front door isnt working the rear door won't? I'm not sure. I'm stumped but i think it might be lost power from the master switch to the passenger front window switch. I hate electical.. lol
  5. If you have deep pockets, this is a fun tool to have. Hand held spot welder. I don't remember the brand though. Wired for 220 and many settings for different metal thickness and clamp times. Many accessories too, different shape and sized ends.
  6. This is true and far more difficult on 25 year old paint. Plus its the bottom of the rocker so even less concerned.
  7. I DID MORE THINGS! seeing the rocker all done really motivated me to take care of other things on the jeep and start the reassembly. I did a major tune up tonight and quite frankly i don't even know how this jeep ran.. Spark plugs were rusty junk, the wires were arking, the cap had crud on the contacts Rotor had crud on the contacts as well and i ran the part number and turns out its a mopar part.. so it might be original. Changed the oil, which was thick and black And after all that she ran smoother than shes ever run and quieter too! I also buttoned up some of the interior and placed the fender on the jeep. All in all not bad. My only issue is the color isnt quite right. But I'm going to leave it. It looks worse than it actually is lol
  8. Its a very "plush" jeep. Comfy as hell and unique for sure But I know that feeling. I want more jeeps too but i don't have the space for anymore. Id love to get my hands on another 5.9 grand cherokee, those things are animals
  9. Maybe you should see if you can scoop it! C'mon, you know you want one.
  10. Apparently they are all on the east coast lol Ive seen a few now but all have been v8 models. Mine is the only orvis with the 4.0 i have seen
  11. That was over the weekend. Tonight i finished it all up. I had some good moment going after i had got home from work but i originally was just going to sand and mask and finish tomorrow. Decided why stop now? All sanded and cleaned and edges taped. And since i didnt have any paper.. trash bags did the trick! 1k grey primer sealer Moss green pearl base coat Clear coat! Hit it with some heat to get the drying process going and left it taped up as not to ruin the paint.
  12. Anyway, i took full advantage of the weird warm weather to finiah tackling the rocker Front of the a pillar all welded up and bottom finished spot welded. Lots of grinding later and threw down some mud and seam sealer. By the time it got dark it was in primer. Very happy with how that turned out.
  13. Havent posted in a while but big progress! I had not been to the local junkyard in a while so i decided to take a quick stroll through to see what they had before taking care of other things and wouldnt you know it.. Another orvis! Same year as mine, a 95. They also have a 96 orvis as well. What are the odds? Looks like it had been in a rollover. Roof caved in and it had factory side steps but they were ripped off. Snagged the bodyside moldings off it at least so now i have 3 sets! Including the ones on my orvis I love finding rare one year only parts and i may have a problem with hoarding them as well.
  14. My dad actually got it for his firebird build, and it wasnt cheap.. but works the balls and i wasnt missing a chance to use such a nice tool
  15. Yeah so ive heard haha If I'm traveling for a bed I'm traveling for a truck at that point lol

    Oh no

Unless you need to rent a space to store it.
  17. Oh man, you are probably nowhere near me but id love to have a clean long bed over my crumbly crusty one.
  18. The86manche

    Oh no

My every day struggle now. I'm finding mjs pop up around me everywhere and i want them! But i really can't! I need to thin the fleet. But mjs! Gaaahhh!
  19. The only way to make the trans work would be to manual shift it but even then you may have issues. The trans is controled by a tcu. Maybe do a 5 speed conversion as well
  20. I think they still do that, maybe not right now but i remember hearing about that as well. Ive never been able to catch that golden day though. I have not heard about that though! Thats wicked funny hahaha
  21. Holland used auto parts 978-667-9235 1 winning road in billerica mass They ALWAYS have jeeps, new ones every week, they keep stock for a while before crushing and once in a blue moon they get old school jeeps, cjs, grand wagoneers. They even get other old school cars too. Big yard, busy, and you can sometimes negotiate with them. Sadly they stack vehicles Jacks used cars and parts 888-873-5225 24 town farm lane north billerica mass Somewhat big yard Staff isnt bad Their jeeps selection isnt big but they have a few. Rotation is slow. They do have a grand wagoneer but its picked pretty good.. Jacks is a better place for some real old school cars. They have 60s 70s 80s cars sitting in trees. Sams pull-a-part 800-521-8000 210 granite street wercester mass Have to pay an entry fee. $2.00 but if you search through enough cars you get it back. Huge yard! Very friendly people very very busy and completely YOU pull it. They have front loaders and car stands to help you pull things if need be but they don't pull anything themselves. Big jeep stock, always new jeeps coming and going and they get comanches from time to time. Last one they had was a tan on tan swb sportruck. 2.5 5 speed 2wd. Rotted from the cab back. My favorite and only been once: Blanchard auto salvages 603-654-9445 Wilton New Hampshire This is a time capsule junk yard. Everything ranging from ford model As to vegas to ol school bread vans! and some modern cars too. Their jeep selection is small but they have a few good ones, mostly J series trucks but they have a few cjs and some willys wagons too and 1 FC. But i never found it. This place is old school, they are cash only and if you want to walk the yard its a $10 deposit. Only reason is to deter thiefs. So if you buy something they put the $10 towards that part.
  22. Yes every once in a while a photo will be right side up on my phone but when i select it for the forum it flips. I am running chrome on my android phone too
  23. After doing a few more minor trimmings and grinding the edges of the rocker i clamped it in place to finish off the day. Yesterday i got to welding the rocker! This little machine works wonders and makes my life so much easier for this job! spot welder! You guys have to get you one runs 220amp and the controls are simple. 3 presets 1 for current, pulse or solid, 2 for metal thickness, and 3 for pulse time. Squeeze the handle and the two points weld the metal, bam! Clean welds in seconds! By the end of the night the rocker was almost completely spot welded. I have to weld the A, b pillar and dog leg. I don't know why the photo is upside down again...
  24. Progress time! Went over the etch primer with another primer and then went over that with por15 on the inside of the rocker Patched in the inner A pillar brace and i had to patch in a spot on the inner rocker behind the B pillar. Did a little more grinding and priming around edges in preparation for the rocker panel
  25. It sure does.. still chugging along. But thanks pete!
