Replacement Blower resistor pigtail
eaglescout526 replied to Anthi4078's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would get just new terminals and poke the new wires out of the connector and crimp the new terminals on and put them in the new connector. -
Post updated with pics.

Yes haha. I am currently watching that one. I figured I would reach out here first and see if anyone can locate an older XJ. I need the plate that the rod at the end of the actuator bolts into as well, my 229 is missing that plate but I have to take it apart as I can not get it to change from 4wd back to 2wd.

Help: Spare Tire Carrier Components
eaglescout526 replied to DesertComanche86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Could always find an S10 winch and just sandwich it between the mounting pieces of the old assembly. -
Bump. I need the vac shift motor/actuator and the shift plate bolted to the t-case that changes the mode. I’ll find some diagrams and update the first post with them. 228/9 was found under SJs and XJs.

Key in ignition chime switch.

Ew. I see 80% maverick truck and 20% unnecessarily futuristic Jeep.

Chunk, A 1984 XJ

Finally figured out where this thing is to be mounted. Course there is no literature anywhere on installing this system yourself. So I got to looking around on the underside, AMC is clever as I finally figured out what the three dots are for on the upper firewall and got to thinking, AMC thought ahead and put dots on where to drill holes and holes for bolts to go through etc. I looked up at the floor and saw two holes and the seat belt bolt that caught my eye, looked to the other side and noted there was only one eye by the seat belt bolt. "This has to be it." Looked at the parts book and found the bracket to have two bolts holes going through the bracket but to where. This spot has to be it, I cannot see this going anywhere else. So now I have to make an arm that will bolt to the sensor and push rod so that it will actuate when the XJ is low to trigger the compressor for more air. -
You sure you don't have an 86? 87-92 only had the 4.0L I6

GrandBoost98s Comanche 2
eaglescout526 replied to GrandBoost98's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Yes that’s what you need for the 2.5L. Both the 4.2L in the YJ and the 2.5L XJ/MJ/YJ share parts in terms of mounting the AC and alt. Should help in your search for those brackets. -
There isn’t one from the factory. Theres either a console with or without the power mirror hole. Maybe someone with CAD design or a 3D printer program could come up with something.
-
It is an 87, the hood rod is still in the 84-86 location which was still there on the 1986 produced 87 MJs. As for your tach issue, you will not find the tach signal on your distributor, you will find it on one of the plugs at the bottom of the ICM(Igniton Control Module) that has the coil mounted on top. The tach signal should be a green wire, someone will correct me if I am wrong about that.

can't find new windshield
eaglescout526 replied to EUREKA's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You could always get the later style and yank the rubber off. It’s just a weatherstrip type. I remembered I ordered a NOS one for a member on here about a year ago. Granted it might be glued to the windshield before it is installed. -
My 1992 Comanche Pioneer Rejuvination
eaglescout526 replied to Jlindsey86's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
You’ll want 87-96. 84-86 are different in terms of how it latches closed. -
If no one has sent you a PM about them, I’ll take them.
-
Try finding the darker blue from 84-85 and nutmeg Interior.

Hmmm. I’ll see what I can do. I think I still have the emails from the guy who was gonna get it done. -

I haven’t heard anything since I last spoke to the gentleman about getting them done. OP, you can call Phoenix graphics and see if they have them yet. Or I can tomorrow. -

And the most nerve-racking part of the install is done! The only things left to do in the rear is tie in the harness to the trailer harness, load leveling sensor and swap the shocks. -
Yes. Bypass it. All it does from the factory is “quiet” the pump down for XJ owners as they claimed to hear the pump inside the Jeep. MJs don’t need it and it causes problems like what you’re having right now. If you plug the two wires together, you should have your fuel delivery again.
-
88 might have the fuel pump resistor on the drivers side by the air box. Bypass that and see if it changes anything. It’s a white bar with two of the same color wires plugged in.

NOS? Or refurbished? Either way I f-ing love how well this turned out. So damn glad I would snag the touch up paint that Chrysler would say to toss. Damn glad one of many I did matched damn well. -

It is on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And of course a mock up with a spare turbine I need to take the paint off of Oh and theres a OEM accessory hitch on now that you can't see very well. Tomorrow I will make the holes for the license plate and lamp. Oooo now I can put my NOS license plate lamp block off plate on too! Now that the rear is mostly done minus the trailer harness that needs to be tied in, I can focus back to the front.
