  1. The only numbers that match on these jeeps is what the VIN says it should have and the date code on the block.
  2. Knowing AMC, they are still there.
  3. This. I have a strap under mine just in case. Not sure what it would be but wayyyyy better safe than sorry. And prevent from buying a new rim and tire.
  4. This has a good chunk of the connectors AMC used. What I have found isnt in here is Metri280 unsealed connectors and pack-con connectors. Metripack150, weatherpack and packard series 56 connectors are in here. Delphi Connector_Catalog.pdf
  5. I would get just new terminals and poke the new wires out of the connector and crimp the new terminals on and put them in the new connector.
  6. Post updated with pics.
  7. Yes haha. I am currently watching that one. I figured I would reach out here first and see if anyone can locate an older XJ. I need the plate that the rod at the end of the actuator bolts into as well, my 229 is missing that plate but I have to take it apart as I can not get it to change from 4wd back to 2wd.
  8. Could always find an S10 winch and just sandwich it between the mounting pieces of the old assembly.
  9. Bump. I need the vac shift motor/actuator and the shift plate bolted to the t-case that changes the mode. I’ll find some diagrams and update the first post with them. 228/9 was found under SJs and XJs.
  10. Key in ignition chime switch.
  11. Ew. I see 80% maverick truck and 20% unnecessarily futuristic Jeep.
  12. Finally figured out where this thing is to be mounted. Course there is no literature anywhere on installing this system yourself. So I got to looking around on the underside, AMC is clever as I finally figured out what the three dots are for on the upper firewall and got to thinking, AMC thought ahead and put dots on where to drill holes and holes for bolts to go through etc. I looked up at the floor and saw two holes and the seat belt bolt that caught my eye, looked to the other side and noted there was only one eye by the seat belt bolt. "This has to be it." Looked at the parts book and found the bracket to have two bolts holes going through the bracket but to where. This spot has to be it, I cannot see this going anywhere else. So now I have to make an arm that will bolt to the sensor and push rod so that it will actuate when the XJ is low to trigger the compressor for more air.
  13. You sure you don't have an 86? 87-92 only had the 4.0L I6
  14. Yes that’s what you need for the 2.5L. Both the 4.2L in the YJ and the 2.5L XJ/MJ/YJ share parts in terms of mounting the AC and alt. Should help in your search for those brackets.
  15. There isn’t one from the factory. Theres either a console with or without the power mirror hole. Maybe someone with CAD design or a 3D printer program could come up with something.
  16. Done
  17. It is an 87, the hood rod is still in the 84-86 location which was still there on the 1986 produced 87 MJs. As for your tach issue, you will not find the tach signal on your distributor, you will find it on one of the plugs at the bottom of the ICM(Igniton Control Module) that has the coil mounted on top. The tach signal should be a green wire, someone will correct me if I am wrong about that.
  18. You could always get the later style and yank the rubber off. It’s just a weatherstrip type. I remembered I ordered a NOS one for a member on here about a year ago. Granted it might be glued to the windshield before it is installed.
  19. You’ll want 87-96. 84-86 are different in terms of how it latches closed.
  20. If no one has sent you a PM about them, I’ll take them.
  21. Try finding the darker blue from 84-85 and nutmeg Interior.
  22. Hmmm. I’ll see what I can do. I think I still have the emails from the guy who was gonna get it done.
  23. I haven’t heard anything since I last spoke to the gentleman about getting them done. OP, you can call Phoenix graphics and see if they have them yet. Or I can tomorrow.
