  1. thanks everybody for the input, I guess it's off to the junkyard for me. Maybe I'll take my wife along, that counts as a date, right?
  2. is there a cross reference of readily available, more common trannies that will work? Sketchy BA10's and AX's can be found but are hard to trust and trustworthy ones, if available, will cost more than the truck is worth. I don't care if it is from a different brand of vehicle, but it needs to be manual and for a 2WD, thanks for any ideas
  3. Jzlajeep, thank you for the offer, and thanks to all the other members But it may be a moot point, I re-installed the tranny and after a few tests it appears that the 3rd gear synchro is shot, as it grinds going in and won't stay in gear, I knew it was worn but it always worked. When I pulled it there was only about a half pint of oil in it, I think I shocked it with new oil. The truck is very rough but the motor is very strong, though I think the old dog might be reaching the end of the line.
  4. Thanks Pete, I'll probably just get the one on eBay, I'm very cheap so it kills me to spend that much on something so little, grrr
  5. Hi Eaglescout, thanks for the advice, I've heard about the issues with the BA10 but this one has lasted through 187,000 miles and still going strong so they can't be all bad! Plus, I don't want to swap trannies for what appears to be a less than $20 part Hello Pizzaman, thanks, I'll try the 505 route, maybe get on some Peugeot forums. I know there is one of these parts on eBay but they want $30 plus shipping. It's just a thin washer and a retaining clip

  7. Hello all, I recently had to replace the slave cylinder in my BA 10/5 tranny. As you all probably know, this means I had to remove and replace the tranny. While doing this I pulled the shifter and it just lifted right out, when I looked on the uh, shifter hole? I noticed that the stuff that was supposed to hold it in was all broken up (the retaining ring and clip) I pulled out the parts and figured I could just but new ones but apparently nobody has these parts. My questions are; 1. has anybody else run into this problem? and B. is there a workaround? like a part from another vehicle that will fit. Any info would be greatly appreciated and of course, Thank you in advance.
