  2. Could be it. ECU could be getting false readings and the high rev would be to help warm it up to go into closed loop.

  4. That would rev it out unless the cable from the servo is caught. That’s a good one Ωhm.
  5. Damn. I’m curious as to what the read out would be. Well drive it without the ISA plugged in and hopefully we can solve the issue. I’ll rack my brain and think what else would cause this before looking at the ECU. So let’s see MAP is fine TPS adjusted? ISA rebuilt and replaced Power steering switch operating Vac lines, inspected manifold bolts, tight O2? That leaves the MAT and the CTS on the manifold.
  6. Interesting….that rules out the power steering switch from being bad. You don’t have an REM do you?

Please send me a PM if your interested and I will happily guide you to the gentleman who is in charge of new members. Cactus Cruisers AMC is AZ based and is oriented towards those in the valley area(but does not say no to those outside of the valley). Goal of CCAMC is to preserve AMC history and to show off our AMC's and Jeeps to those who may not know their history. They also run an AMC restoration shop known through the country by many AMC enthusiasts. I am currently one of, if not the only Jeep member there and I talked with the VP about reaching out on here and he said absolutely! Feel free to shoot me any questions, I will answer them the best I can. Currently CCAMC only puts on one dedicated AMC|Jeep show a year.
  10. How stock are your MJ speakers? Like original 8Ω? If so you need the 4Ω probably for your XJ amp
  11. I know with my 84 there was the choke heater relay that the alt powered along with some other stuff that was spliced to the relay.

  13. I don’t think any MJ owner bought into it and if they did, those MJs are long gone now.
  14. No problem. It was an optional accessory back in the day. So I don’t see it being impossible.
  15. Its honestly worth a shot. I have an XJ electrical manual and could help guide ya through where to hook it up.
  16. You probably could land a whole circuit from an XJ and wire it in. The XJ rear defrost it almost the same dimension as the MJ rear window.
  17. Not really. Unless you’re gonna cut the harness away from the dome lamp circuit. And the defrost also needs a timer relay so it won’t constantly be on.
  18. Yup that one! I think I have that one but I feel I’ve seen them where the orientation of the expansion valve is straight up and down too.
  19. Yes. It’s the one that goes over the plumbing hole. If you look in the engine bay next to the blower motor where the evap and heater core go into the box, there’s a foam there. i don’t know all the variants. Most the variants I have seen are in regards to the clocking of the evap hoses.

  22. The foam for the evap and core would be a best seller too. Sad that theres at least 3 different variants of that foam.

  25. Shoot me a PM for the belts. They are set up for that config. I used to run that set up before finding the AC parts. Yes. 84-86 are totally different animals all their own.
