Renix guys, where does the 207(86) and 231 get its vacuum from? Vacuum was very much different on my 84 XJ and now I am not sure where I should plug it in at. Does the vacuum come off that Y junction that goes to the vacuum canister? Need 2.5L preferably

What kills me is money. But knowing what parts I have and knowledge helps me get some of the other stuff done while I save up for another part. Like Chunk. I know I need some other parts but I still have stuff to do. Funny enough, I’m motivated to keep wrenching, but two factors stop me, being tired from work, and making sure my wife has attention. Oh also clearing up space keeps me motivated as I need to part all the parts on the project to have my space back haha.

Hey, its starting to look like an engine bay! New gasket showed up, got that in, sounds like it solved my vac leak. Now to start buttoning things up and hope to get the pipe soon so I can start attaching accessories and what not. Also replaced the upper radiator hose. It was bothering me that it was replaced with a stupid generic flexible pipe. -
Electrical connectors compilation

If you look at the back of the switch bezels, the early ones say singer. The later ones say Eaton. Some have said that the switches themselves have the ford oval on them. -

More like Chrysler. Chrysler was kinda in bed with Mitsubishi in the 80’s and 90’s. Up until the Daimler purchase. -

Cruise Control Actuator Wiring
eaglescout526 replied to Gary from Texas's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Wait. Yours is a 91? Your MJ should already have the wiring and you need the vacuum canister, stalk and vac hose from my understanding of the HO years. Weird that someone would go out of their way to add an aftermarket unit. -
I agree! Next year I will post on both the Comanche groups on FB to get their butts out there. Love to reach out to the SJ, XJ and CJ guys too. And of course! Now I gotta replace the ebrake cable. Yay...

Hahahah I love this pic! Thank you Carter and thank you for driving her home too! Sadly I was not able to make it but I made sure she was there though....stupid Ford inventory. (ignore my friend back there, he had a blast for me while I suffered haha.) Lets go for next year!

Indeed it is! Just gotta wait for the factory manifold gasket and I can button up everything in the engine bay. I’m still waiting on the down pipe. I really don’t want to modify my old one, but I might if I don’t want to wait much longer. Then I can start putting goodies on. -
Wow….it’s been a long while but I also see I didn’t say anything about getting some parts powder coated like the fender wells. I’ve been fighting on and off with the manifolds. For some reason there really isn’t any 403 manifolds out there. Maybe I should look at a 350. Good thing I know where one is. that being said I finally ordered and received the core support. So I can actually start putting this car back together. But I think I need to order some other stuff like body bushings.

He shouldn’t have one on an 86 MJ. It should be Renix TBI unless someone did some swapping.

OH F THE HELL YES!!! WE ARE IN BUSINESS GENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok so for about a week or so now I have been fighting with the XJ not starting. Went down a list of things and found that the fuel smelled pretty damn close to paint thinner(few nights ago). I collected a sample of the gas and it just would not light on fire. Ok that confirms it, old gas. So I drained the tank last night, put new fuel in. Tried again. No go. Ok what the hell now?! So I went over some things in my head then thought about the timing as I was laying in bed. I literally dropped the distributor in and rolled with it. Stupid me! I shouldve known better. Ugh. Ok so I popped Little Reds hood open and removed the distributor cap and did the same to Chunk and mirrored the position. Done! Try to go again and I got a couple pops and fire balls. Ok thats not right. Checked the timing again and it was 180* out. Ok what the hell? Why? Put it back. Tried again and OH HELL YES!!!!!! Turns out I have a vacuum leak still. Its the damn full manifold gasket which sucks on the 2.5L. Could never get it to seal correctly or line up on Little Red and I decided to give that one a chance again and it failed. It has a leak at the intake manifold at Cyl 3 & 4. So back to the factory style gasket! But hell yes! This is a big win I needed. -
Y’all should be taking any Facebook “parts” business as a scam. It’s easy to sucker you in. As much as I’d hate to say it, I’d avoid those Jeep selling groups unless it’s something regulated like I know one of the Comanche groups has a dedicated selling page.

Nope it’s just cheap thin metal. Mopar still makes them….course that was 5 or 6 years ago when I replaced mine. -
My fathers 06 Sierra doesn’t have the on star button. So I think it’s all dependent on trim level.

What stickers were on your car in the late 80"s-early 90's?
eaglescout526 replied to Htchevyii's topic in The Pub
That reminds me of this sticker my grand parents have had on their freezer for years! Was the only and best oldies station out here! Now it’s not even what it used to be. Something more for my parents generation to listen to. I think they call it Big or something dumb. -
Well on most modern cars you would pull it all the way back to you and the brights would come on and stay on until you let go or you would click it rapidly to signal to the person who has their signal on in the lane next to you on the free way to come on into your lane. Thats the idea behind it in the states at least. Most people use them to either flash that your brights are on or your being an arse. one of the two.
