But I lack time and a second vehicle, I am willing to bet that the door weatherstrips failed. But I will do a water down to see any leaks before reassembly today. Surprisingly though the frame is really clean, not sure how long that will last but over time I will make sure to reseal everything. Before during after Door locks are finished and work as they should.

Who knew that adding power locks meant drying out the insulation from the hurricane like rain(on the passenger side) to removing cancer on the drivers side floor. Damn these trucks rot from the inside out. So shame to say that Little Red became susceptible to rust and floor replacement, even west coast trucks are not immune. Ill post pics tomorrow as my dad and I just finished the floor today. Finally replaced the 30 year old weather strip which clearly needed to be done badly. Power locks will be wired in with relays as per recommendation. Insulation/sound deadener is being added to help with AC and vibrations/sound. Honestly, my heart sank a little when we started the patch repair, I knew Pete always said check under and the first time I did, it only looked like surface rust until this go around some decent sized holes showed up. But shes got some patches in and should last another 30 years. Passenger side has only minimal rust thank goodness.

86 is an odd ball year. You would need a new air box in order to use the 87-90 2.5L boot. But being an 86, you won't be able to put the newer style box in due to the round hole for the cold air intake vs the rectangle on the 87-90 air boxes.

Well..this is a stab but by your name you have an 87 MJ. I believe if not all Renix MJ's did not have DRL or the side markers blink. When you pull out the switch to turn your lights on, the side markers will stay on and when you turn on your signal they will not blink. That feature appeared on newer XJ's. But all this will depend on weather you have the original Renix harness and set up or the newer HO swap.

Actually its funny you say that because I did cry when I lost the accord to a ford Taurus. And the only reason why I did is because it was in the family since new and I remember riding a lot in that car. But as time went on the more I realized I would've had to rebuild the engine so I am glad it is gone. Lol. But that's not against the point, it just had sentimental value. See. I love that he wants an older car. Most kids in our generation don't appreciate and understand the simplicities automobiles had back then without all the computers and fuel injection. Granted our Renix trucks are computers but really easy to work with. Hell most kids today see an old car and wonder why anyone would want it because it doesn't have a Starbucks coffee warmer. That being said he should go the route of cheap and fuel efficient right now and save up to aquire his dream J-truck. Granted I had no idea what I was getting into when I got my MJ after I wrecked my Accord but I knew I wanted a truck and I knew my grandfather had a small pick up and thus I ended up with an MJ and an addiction. Plus I also don't like driving much so I still save some money on gas.
