It really is more work than its worth. You're probably right. Ive never seen an MJ sport bar in person of both styles so I don't know too much about the design differences.
-
Not particularly, the distance for the wheel well legs is shorter than the LWB sport bar. So you could alter it to fit a LWB by extending the legs to the wheel well.

Dash wire identification help
eaglescout526 replied to marcial88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
These are the courtesy lamps: To cut costs AMC just had all the wiring there for everything inside the cab. So you may or may not have the fog lamp harness behind the grill. If you don't, it is easy to make your own harness and tie it in to that switch. Cargo lamps are MJ only, its a lamp that sits above the rear window of the cab and illuminates the bed. The ash tray lamp looks like this: The cigar lighter lamp i can't find a pic of at the moment but it plugs into the single spade and has a housing the directs light on to the green ring of the lighter assembly and and clips onto it. -

Chrome Factory Step Bumper -- CA

Classic Cali plate too for those who want that 80's aesthetic to their MJ -
He doesn’t want it. He showed me this MJ last month. His MJ is a long bed and this one here is a short.
-
Glove box isn't removable. Youll have to remove the whole dash.
-
Did you check the relay? How does your vac lines from the canister under the bumper t the fire wall look?
-
Yes it did, 87 and prior trucks. I sold a NOS black vinyl bench seat bottom cover to another member earlier this year.
-
I remember this one. SoCal wanted the rollbar for it. Honestly it looks like a good candidate for restoration. Plus its got black interior and a full early style cluster.

Ignition and Door Lock Cylinder
eaglescout526 replied to comanchefest's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm probably going to research this route myself as I got a NOS keyless entry bezel that I might be able to hide a little module in for keyless. Someone might have a suggestion. -
Ignition and Door Lock Cylinder

Last time I replaced my lock cylinders I found the right ones through team Cherokee. Chrysler still has lock cylinders available but they come dissembled and not coded I think. -

But is the injector pulsing? Thats the real question. It sounds like everything is in order except fuel going down the intake. Just helped SoCalManche with his 86 with a no fire condition and spent 25 pages rooting out the ECU as the problem. Can you poor fuel down the TB and get the engine to run? -

120mph speedometer
eaglescout526 replied to ghetdjc320's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
If I didn't hug the brake so much on my way down from Payson last year I probably could've saw 90MPH. Course I still had poly bushings so she rattled like hell and kept her at 75. But I can't even imagine a 2.5L going that fast. -
Go to the model year of the VIN subforum and put your VIN there as the title and a little bit of what you know about the truck.

Completely Restored.......NOT!
eaglescout526 replied to WahooSteeler's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Oh sweet jesus that bench is just wrong in so many ways. I like how theres a mid 00's GM rear view mirror installed. As for the engine I'm quite surprised theres no PS but AC which has me a bit suspicious. -
Cruise Harness Connector Question
eaglescout526 replied to Big Dan's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yup that’s the ground wire for the later Renix years. Early Renix years use the servo mounting bracket for the ground which is cleaner and better in my opinion. -

Sounds like your fuel filter is clogged. When was the last time the fuel filter and the contents of tank have been checked? -
Hope you didnt ditch those factory bed rails somewhere. But looks like a good find even at 74K on the odo.
