  1. I’ve never used centric. Had the luk slave cylinders for a while and they were great! The crown units I have used were cheap and are cheap but I didn’t have time to wait for the parts to show up.
  2. Thank you all!! Part has been secured!
  3. Perfect! May I task you with this challenge?
  4. Getting closer!

  7. Ill shoot him a PM. Does he pop in every once in a great while?
  8. Anyone out there? There’s a dealer who has a couple NOS window pieces and the Parts GM said he is afraid to ship them to me out of fear of getting damaged. If anyone lives out near McHenry let me know.
  9. Yeah. The fun part will be the fuel mixture screws at the base of the carb that are already a pain to get to. I am very tempted to take the damn hood off this car though. I can imagine it was not a favorable hood open design.
  10. It’s indeed a factory part and no longer available either. On the body of the shock should be an AMC part number that starts with “89” on it. Aside from that, the engine doesn’t need it but I wouldn’t delete it either. Some have said to look for engine shocks that would be around the same length and if you can find, the same fitment. But otherwise even if it is worn out, it’ll still do it’s job. The engine only get violent when it starts to stumble and stall.
  11. Looks like a hot air balloon actually. That’s really neat!
  12. I'm not too worried about getting the carb system just yet. This car has sat since 1998 so it’s a challenge for sure but I have to learn about how cars work prior to fuel injection and so far it’s getting more simple the more I work on it.
  13. You are correct, but I am not sure if anyone out there reproduces the HO pioneer decals. In my opinion the HO pioneer decals are kinda, blah.

  15. I am a stickler for factory done/accessories and I can sure as hell say I do love the modification to accept the OEM bumper. Not a lot of guys do that and makes me want to consider such a mod.
  16. Well...carb was 95% assembled right, not bad for my first carb rebuild. The 5% that wasnt built right was the float and needles werent together as they shouldve been to stop the flow of fuel into the bowls. So now I could be looking at vac, timing or something else. Ill probably need to get my vac stuff sorted out first before rooting with timing and electrical.
  17. It is the V6 Dauntless emblem. I was at AMC the other day and they had a CJ fender that had that emblem on it. I wanted it but didnt want to deprive someone from restoring their early CJ.
  18. What brand are you using? I have the same issue. Which is why I’m trying to convert to the early style external.
  19. No I did not. I havent checked to see if it still on ebay since purchasing the one.
  20. Lol, pretty much Yup! I don't know how similar the 4.0L and 2.5L pre-heater hoses are. And apparently those things are almost always tossed and missing in junkyard Jeeps.
  21. Funny you mention that. That was the first thing I tried before replacing the pump. I took an electric pump I salvaged from those modern all in one pump/sending unit assemblies and used that to at least prime the line and got nothing, I think there just wasnt enough gas left in the can and to add probably the age of the suspension probably doesnt help.
  22. That another thing I am gonna check out. I feel certain that it could be timing related but my main goal is to get the fuel system running and the engine to run on its own without any help. I would also like to add that the positive battery cable that has been on since probably '98 has been replaced. Got too hot and was probably corroded on the inside. Upon replacing it the engine started right away and starter sounds more happy to crank than before. So woo there too!
  23. 2 months later(from ordering it in January)..... Came all the way from the Deutschland.
  24. Lets rewind the clock to August of 2020. I posted a topic about the Pre-heater hose and asked about what it exactly does and what not. I decided that back in December I would replace it and a dealer showed to have it. Struck out...Searched the part number up and bingo! Ebay shows two....in the heart of the Reich(not really)...So I bought it early in January, messaged the seller if he would ship to the U.S. and he agreed and shipped it. $100 later and a month goes by with no info. Now two months later it finally shows up! So now I can replace mine. I know, y'all are probably gonna ask, "But Eagle, couldnt ya just go to the parts store and get one?" Yes I absolutely could have. But I did not want to deal with the hassle of fitment issues and what not so I bought this. Ought to last me another 30 years right?
