Not entirely relevant but theres a game my cousins in VA came up with that I occasionally with friends or family. They call is "Score" and what you do is say score when you see a yellow car(excludes Penske and construction equipment) and when you see a pink car you say "Pink score win" and you win that round/day/trip or what ever.

Yup! I painted them whole, waited for the paint to dry and used a scotchbrite pad to scrape off the paint on the letters.

Our MJs never got the option. You have to figure out the wiring between the sensor plug and cluster plug to get it to work and it might be more work than it is worth. Still would be nice to actually have. I plan to tackle that one day. HOs got it as plug n play. I just remembered that.

I posted a good emblem resto in the DIY a couple years ago. My Comanche emblems came out good, wouldn’t clear coat them again like I did. I just used a flat tool like a screw driver to scrape off all the old sticky and use isopropyl to get any and all the residue that was left and applied new 3m emblem tape.

Love the 85. Something tells me it’s original but has a couple problems which might tell me it’s a late 85 with the front turn signal sockets not coming on with the rest of the lights. The 4x4 could be just one of the early change overs from the classic 4wheel drive but it’s hard to say when that happened. Still a very neat time capsule.

Ive always wanted an indicator for cruise control. Havent figured out how to really do that yet but will one day.

The pics have a valid AMC tag on the wiring harness. My NOS fuel sender has the same tag except it has a different part number and 23.5 gallon on it.

The 8th digit of the VIN would say depending on the year and all 86-92 parts interchange with the exception of the 91-92 fuel sending unit, engine components, and interior connections

He’s a great guy. He said he used to do quality checks on mostly Jeeps back in the day for a dealer out here but he didn’t get into the mechanics until in the 90’s. He told me that when he saw and worked on my truck that it brought him some memories back. I usually ask him some things from time to time, mostly steering/brake related lol.
