If you got an adapter for the quick connect on both ends they could. I think the Renix era has unions as mine still has a union for the lines.

The u-clips that hold the hoses into the housing of the slave cylinder are crap too and are too short to really help hold the hoses in place which is dumb. Someone on here replaced those u-clips with either cotter pins or used a longer u-clip and bent the ends of the clip outward to prevent movement. I have had two slave cylinders fail on me because of those u-clips sliding out.

Yeah it sucks to lose the original to the engine housing but I am glad I had another that was still era correct. Now I need to find another one to have as a back up. Aint that a lucky catch. All I decided to do was replace the pass leaf cause it was old and I had already replaced the drivers side due to a broken leaf. Ended up catching a ticking time bomb.

The aftermarket scene for the internal slave cylinders are crap. The only good brand that we hope you got was a Luk branded one. Some others have had luck with some other companies but Luk seems to be the only one that won't blow out a seal or a line for normal needed pressure for the clutch. Just time and patience, some teflon tape on the threads of some of the flare nuts can help make sure no air or leaks enter the system.

Wow.....Glad I caught that!! Now she sits better and I can now see how crooked my parents driveway is. Thats the main leaf too!

What the hell?! Something that shouldve been an hour job turned into an ordeal. Replacing the T-stat, how hard could that be right? Very... Removed housing, removed t-stat, removed old gasket, cleaned surface, install new t-stat into housing, put gasket over, us bolts to help keep it all aligned, install, tighten down, leak, wait leak? Fought to fix the issue, tightened down the bottom bolt cause thats where it was leaking. Instead I cracked the housing. So I went and grabbed my spare housing from the other 2.5L I have. installed that, still leaked. Fought with it, sanded the engine side mating surface to make sure all gasket and hunk was off. Installed, still leaked. Took new housing off, sanded down new housing, installed. Still LEAKED!! I thought, the hell is going on here? Tightened the bolts to spec, cleaned both surfaces. Well turns out I ruined the gasket and my father looked at the housing cause he was right there and saw the bottom mount was bent downward. So I fixed that, went to the auto store, got two gaskets, a fel-pro and inhouse. Installed in house cause it had the sticky side and viola!! No more leaking and now I have a happy engine at 210*. Before it would only barely hit 210 but run at 200. I think the T-stat would get stuck open and here's why I think so: This thing is brown and I have no idea why. Go back to 2018, I had a bad head gasket and drove on it till she ran like major poo. Changed that and all the fluids, engine ran really cool like too cool to pass emissions. So I swapped in this stant 195 and she ran great up until this past winter where I think it was sticking open. We shall see.. Now to replace the pass rear leaf and valve cover and fix the other three valve covers paints with Mopar paint.

Nope. Not 86 specifically. Best part about this set up is 86-90 or whenever Chrysler changed to the external again is the same bell house. So everything will be plug n play.

So. Close! Just need the fork. External, front retainer, ball and line are NOS. Bolts, spacer and fork will not be. can't wait to have this mod done.

Here are the two power seats I am workin with. On the plus side, I can cut and modify the mounting brackets to fit the drivers side which ought to be a snap. The other one is just a base, might be missing a piece or two when compared to these two. -

Major major progress. I still need to clean contacts and what not. But fuel is PUMPING!!! It’s a slow process but it’s gonna take a few battery charges to get it primed and ready to fire on its own. Once it does, gonna move forward, reinstall everything and do the brakes and hope she drives. -
1990 MJ starts but won't stay running
eaglescout526 replied to Epplebee's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It could be strong enough of a signal to tell the ECU that “we are good to fire” but the signal could easily die out afterwards. -

I would test that CPS too just to make sure it’s putting out the proper AC voltage signal for the ECU. -

Needs some hooks on the back side to hang wrench’s while working. -
Honestly, maybe a good weld right in that spot just might do it. Theres plenty of metal there since the engine mount is right there.

I still need to get pics of the seats but looking in the catalog at the drivers side version of the power seat, I might be able to go to town on cutting and fabbing for the seat mounts. heh. -
My long 87' MJ Story/Build Thread
eaglescout526 replied to 89comanch's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
The 87-90 blue cluster is rare as it was an 87 to early 88 cluster before the black cluster came along. You can find that cluster style with the older 84-86 XJs and 86 MJ's but they have a different speedo connection than their later counter part. As for the two spoke steering wheel, its uncommon but most of everyone swaps them out in favor of the stylish three spoke sport steering wheel. -

Youll need alot more than just the radio probably. Like the antenna, its wiring, the bezel, nut and speakers and any other wiring probably. What I find amusing is it has the full blue cluster but no radio and the two spoke wagon wheel. -
