  1. I was about to respond but left for work. Anywho, the aftermarket ones are complete garbage and I swear that anyone running the 2.5L should stay away if at all possible. Highly recommend the original valve cover as it is a very hard plastic one over the aftermarket being some sort of cheap rubber like plastic. If ya can’t find an original plastic one, metal is the next best thing to swap to.
  2. I thought advanced auto revived the brand? All I can say is Mopar doesn’t offer group 56 or 34 in AGM.
  3. Yeah pretty much just scrapping it. It takes a little bit of effort. I’m sure there’s some chemical to help but you probably wouldn’t want it raining down on you. I probably spent hours on mine as well.

  6. Thats right and agreed. Its the only thing that keeps me from going back to Vista or 7.
  7. No they really weren’t trying at all. That American pickers episode that was at that dealer, those guys seemed very hesitant to sell anything. I’m more curious if they have any good NOS Jeep goodies.
  8. Read that article. Good read and nice to know that they have always been selling but the chain link fence to me speaks “stay the hell out”. Doesn’t strike to me as friendly and come buy an AMC
  9. Without doing the above idea, just basically taking a good look around to see what you find. Is the smoke blueish? If it is it’s oil burning from a leaking gasket. If it’s another color it could be anything then. I’ll have to take a pic of a cracked 2.5L exhaust manifold I have. I think those manifolds rarely crack. Unless someone else has more experience.
  10. Definitely give ‘em a clean and see if there’s any improvement.
  11. I honestly have no clue about the screw actually. Screw doesn’t show to be serviceable in the catalog at all so it is unknown to me. All I can say is it’s a fine thread screw with a domed hex head on it for the throttle plate. Crown has new ISAs but I’m not sure if their screw is the same as the original. But yeah that screw keeps the throttle plate open slightly to allow a nice smooth idle. Have you cleaned the actual positive cables? Just because grounds have been cleaned doesn’t mean the power side is corrosion free.
  12. Yeah not seeing that idle screw in the ISA doesn’t help the idle much. If anything that makes the throttle very much if not closed all the way.
  13. Your ISA is missing it’s adjustment screw. Miracle it’s even idling. I hear a vacuum leak, big one actually. And you’re battery light is on lol.
  14. Yeah they’re hard to trust but as long as you have a part number to reference, you should be good to go.
  15. So that front valve is correct. PN is J8132309 -> 33001239. Only 86 uses that set up so we’re in for 86 oddities.
  16. Holy smokes man!? So when was the C64 retired? Lol.
  17. Ahhhh sweeeet! That’s hell of a jump. There’s a program I use to make the start menu like XP. I forget what it’s called at the moment.
  18. No problem. Look forward to any updates.
  19. Sounds like a blast. I’m here to help as I think I took up being the resident 2.5L expert haha. I always ask everyone about the coolant as I’ve had similar issues and if a head gasket hasn’t been done since the MJ left the factory, it will buck and stall to the point where you probably can’t drive any more.
  20. Is it the exhaust cooling off perhaps that you hear? I usually hear a hollo ping after stopping the engine. What color is the coolant?
  21. Hmm 2.5L as well. I’m curious about some of the other things about it.
  22. What’s weird is even if there’s three of them in one spot, we didn’t even get a single person to come talk about them.
  23. Closed down, Bob and Julie scrapped damn near everything except a few things including an MJ bed and the building became another shops within a week of AMC closing. ‘‘Twas a sad day.
  24. Removing the seat actually does wonders for laying in the MJ and working on the fuse block.
  25. I swear I’ve seen a few NOS blue speedos on eBay.
