  1. Have you thought about putting a couple more nuts on the stud and tightening them together and use one of those two as a hold with one wrench and wrench off the stuck one(maybe apply some heat)? Another one you could also try if you don’t want to damage the threads is to use a hot glue gun and a pair of vice grips/channel locks and hot glue the stud to either one and see if you can get the nut off that way?
  2. The only major difference between the two set ups is that the manual trans has a switch that sits above the pedal and disengages cruise for shifting. But it’s better to have the automatic set up as it’s harder to find the original clutch switch. You’ll just have to remember when you have cruise engaged to not shift unless you tap the brakes to turn off cruise. Otherwise it’s plug n play.
  3. I have a metric ton of those regulators(yellow AMC box). Very rarely do they fail or not work but if it has been exposed to moisture for years, expect there to be some corrosion as it is not perfectly sealed. Fun fact, Dana, the axle makers had a division that used to make all those cruise control kits. AMC got the exclusive contract for those kits to be more factory and professional than what you would get from say Sears or the other big 3 makers.
  4. That honestly looks like a good rear bumper to me. Even if it looks a little mangled a BFH and heat will bring it back to being straight. can't be afraid to save those bumpers. *D4 TRIM STYLE D4 - VINYL BENCH SEAT -SA CHARCOAL 135 Zone 35-Washington 1AA U.S. Dealer Retail 3VQ Customer Preferred Discount ALA ALK APA Monotone Paint BAP 75 Amp Alternator BCX Maint. 10. Yeah thats also what I was thinking. Ill proceed to the next step and get it together and try to get at least the front pulleys together.
  11. This makes me want to get down my original set that came with my MJ and fix them once these come out.
  12. As far as I could see the choke shouldn’t be holding it open. But I can’t get it up to temp yet because I don’t have the cooling system running at the moment. I plan to get that slapped in and back together shortly. Encountered an issue with one of the t-stat/reservoir mounting bolt being messed up in the block. But it is a high fast idle on start.
  13. What’s bad is I have a feeling it is the carb. I’ll give it a shot and see what happens. I have a feeling I put the throttle discs in the wrong spots.
  14. Whoops. I left out the part that I did fully disassemble and clean the carb as it was pretty much stuck and not moving at the throttle plates. I’d like to think I rebuilt it right. The only thing that seems to elude me is this high idle. I haven’t done any adjustments other than linkage to get it to set right and more or less for the throttle closed thinking that the linkage is not adjusted and holding it open. So far no true adjustments have been made other than linkage and the fuel to air ratio screws.
  15. So for those who may not know I have a ‘60 T-bird with the 352ci and an autolite 4 barrel. I got the engine running but I can’t seem to get it to come down at all. I’ve checked for vac leaks and can’t seem to find any that I know of and I adjusted the fuel to air ratio screws at the base and still nothing. My next step is to start making some adjustments to the carb and what not but I’m wondering if anyone who has more carb experience has any thoughts. what’s bothers me the most is this car ran 20 some odd years ago but then was parked. As far as what I have gotten into it, I haven’t ripped anything out that would’ve made it run nice and smooth. Now I know it can’t be because the engine doesn’t have a load on it as I don’t have any of the pulleys hooked up, could it?
  16. Ah. But yup it’s for the radio. Guess you’d never know since the radio doesn’t get used.
  17. That plugs into the other silver plug by your hand. It goes from the radio to the antenna.
  18. I’ll give it a quick test today.
  19. Flare nut wrenches!
  20. Oh of course! Wouldnt be a Jeep if it wasnt always something.
  21. I’ve been wondering how this MJ has been doing. Too focused on the XJW?
  22. Got the rear interior assembled, not entirely happy with how the rear hatch closes on the bottom piece but it is what it is. can't complain too much. I also removed the upper half of the rear bench and the seat belts. Upon removing the third lap belt I found this gem: Pretty sure its a piece of the 80's but still was a neat thing to find tucked under the belts. Now to keep cleaning and make my way forward.
  23. My parents fridge while my dad was out just stopped running. Fans were spinning and everything except the compressor. Luckily it’s a GE unit and I found some things to do some diag and found the compressor controller had failed. So my parents order a new controller I installed it and the fridge came to life. The fridge isn’t even that old either.
  24. I’ll get this switch out Tuesday. Also since I have one missing the back half, I’ll show you it’s internals.
  25. Yup! Meant to look the night I found it in the catalog. I’ll get it tonight.
