Proper windshield wiper diagnostics?
eaglescout526 replied to m2bandit's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sounds like something is getting shorted with the wipers activated. Not sure what. -
The Jeep homestead
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
And I’ve seen the movie too! Lol. And thank ya! I’m pretty happy with what I landed as is the girlfriend. That pool is very confusing and I can only assume it was built in the 90’s and the plumbing system was refurbished a decade after it was built and a lot of labels on the pipe are wrong. But that’s the fun. I also got the gaskets for the jets and the removal tool. So I’m gonna be doing that along with cleaning and making fixes to the plaster. So far I haven’t been able to do much else at the moment. But still have lots to do. TV went out and am waiting on the new fuses to show up, Christmas tree is up and I got new cabinets for the garage that I love. Here’s the tree: Bad spot but it works for now. -

Horn Contact Repair Kit

That looks like an early GM/CJ wheel and if the horn is constantly on, did you flip the flex plate the wrong way? -

That shop sounds really really shady. -

Leave it to a shop to go and screw it up for ya. What a bunch of morons. There are two styles of the ignition switch that they literally couldve went and got, a tilt, or a non tilt switch. My best guess is the rod isnt lined up correctly with the key cylinder so you may turn it to the off position but it could very well be in say the run position when crank the key back. Just a guess at this moment but I would either A make the shop redo it because thats pretty poor of them or B, tighten up the tilt mechanism(assuming this is why you had the tilt column out) and install it and make it right. Either way that shop did sloppy work. -
89’ Pioneer MJ Barn Find

No kidding. But they always look great in our Jeeps. Also looks like you need new bulbs for your cargo lamp and fog lamp indicators -

Cruise indicator
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Something like that but the bottom ones be more empty and not populated or blacked out. I’m gonna figure it out I don’t think any of the other bottom ones are used. -
So I have an idea that’s been itching at me for a long while. Ever since I installed cruise actually. What are the thoughts of adding a cruise indicator indicating that it is on and set on the info center of the cluster? I’m going to do a butt load of studying a top my busy schedule and see how possible it is. I know I may have to do some splicing but I think I can make it look factory enough to get it done. Thoughts?

I feel like I gotta post my library. -
Best place to find the clock plug is on the right hand side of the column either by the lighter or tucked somewhere under the cluster and by where the switch plug for the auto trans. Should be blue or black depending on the year.
-
84-88 are quartz clocks which look beautiful and fantastically 80’s in our Jeeps. So 84-early 87 is the blue connector. I did a diy conversion on this to use the later 87-90 metri pack connector. late 87-90 uses the black metri pack. 91-92? uses a white connector. I think I still have one quartz clock left that has been converted to use the later style plug if your interested.

Thanks for the catch. I must’ve double typed a 1. It was built in January.

NOS 4.0L Throttle Body

I would have to look at the back of my FSM or my TSB books to see. I recall it something having it to do with the idle being erratic. -

Question about Cruise Control
eaglescout526 replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So there’s two vac ports and one wire plug for the solenoid. One goes into the harness into the cab attached to a brake switch above the brake pedal, grab the bracket and the other vac port goes to the reservoir behind the bumper. So you’ll need to grab ever little piece attached to it. I have spare parts for cruise control as well. -
Question about Cruise Control
eaglescout526 replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You can absolutely take everything except the column, you don't need the column but you need the turn signal stalk from it. Other wise everything comes out and is completely separate from the main harness.
