AX5 didnt change much over the years. Now the AX15 is where alot of the change issues lie.

Yeah pretty much 87 and 88 were the only years for the BE Colorado red. I’m not sure how the Chrysler one is darker. I may be color blind but I know the current and the past paint on my MJ is damn near identical. Even under the hood was never touched and I don’t see a difference between the two.

Pete his is after the AMC years so it’s gonna be a Chrysler code right there. So that PE4 should translate to HE4 which is Chryslers code for Colorado Red.

Replacing the cab of an MJ? I’d be a bit skeptical of that as the cab is integral to the “uni-frame” design. Not to mention if they use a 97-01 XJ, the firewall will not line up with anything like the clutch, brake master, etc. so they actually need a Renix era XJ or another MJ to start swapping things around.

Little update. So @CactusComanche got in an 86XJW and I of course paid him a visit. More to see the street MJs once again and they are beautiful as always. Anywho I pulled some parts from the 86XJW. Granted the interior is nutmeg in color but I pulled the seats and door panels as they are in beautiful shape. So those will be going in Chunk for a now three tone tan interior look. I’ll post some pics but i have committed some slight blasphemy with the door panels. I’ll post some pics later but I’ve been doing a lot of work since I now have time to work on him. The XJW was really weird though. It’s power lock only, 2.5L A900 series 3 speed auto with command-trac and it’s a base waggy. Not a combo I was expecting at all. Engine sounded good and healthy. It also has the reclining bucket seats and a matching color dash bezel(snagged that too). The body panels were starting to rot away but for where this XJW came from, the underside was in damn near excellent shape. Oh here’s a before on the seats:

I almost bought both at one point but I held off until I found my AMC one. You could very easily make an AMC era one if you wanted to. I’d be willing to work with ya on getting pics and measurements if you’re good at welding and metal working.

That reminds me. I do have a passenger side grey bucket seat for an MJ.

Perhaps there’s something going on with the ignition switch as well.

No. MotoRad is now the supplier for almost if not all Mopar T-stats so you got a genuine one. Sometimes they stamp a number on them and sometimes they don’t for when they’re short on the Mopar ones and put in a public t-stat.

Yup. It’s a Mopar one. So it seems to be normal to run a bit under during the winter.

Does anyone else’s MJ stay under 210 during the winter? I run the heat every time I hop in and drive and my emissions test is coming up. Last year I replaced my t-stat due to it being lazy and this winter I’ve been noticing what seems like the same symptoms of the t-stat being lazy. The only things I can think of is that I’m running a heavy duty OEM radiator and not running the AC. Is this normal for anyone else besides my 2.5L friends? The winter of 2020 I ran the AC all winter to make sure it remained working and I recall seeing 210 constantly.

Damn Mopar ones are a fortune!! I thought they were cheaper but then again I always snagged them from the bad fuse/relay centers which is why I have a bunch.

Mopar has their own ones too. I think I’ve got more than a few of those to spare.
