Shouldn’t be. Should be the same all years. Gotta remember, the MJ was discontinued at this time and it was probably easier for Chrysler to label modules like that with the current production models vs what models it fits. -
As above check to see if the CPS is plugged in. That tells the ECU when to allow the ICM to send spark to get that engine going. The CPS is located on the drivers side of the transmission bell house.

Oh yeah isn’t yours a painted grill? It’ll blend in but it’ll be a long metal piece. ifs the long silver piece below the Jeep letters

It’s a Renix thing so Pre 90 had the 7 piece grill while HO made it a 3 piece. It’s the thick metal trim that sits above the grill and headlamps.

I would do a test on the crank shaft sensor as well just to make sure it is relaying the right voltage to the ECU -

From what I have seen, I do not know if the Chrysler auto trannys used a TCU(I don’t think they did) but under the AW4 section of the parts catalog, there is a TCU for the 4 cylinder. Albeit very rare as most folks just opted for a manual or the 4.0L with an auto at that point. -

Yeah AMC when they built and designed their 2.5L used the GM bolt pattern as a cost saving measure to bolt up transmissions they were already using behind GMs crap 4cyl. -

Oh no. I was just curious is all. I don’t have any future plans to swap unless I was trashing AX5’s left and right. But that being said how many Dakotas were made with the 2.5L and AX15 combo to where we can still find them and it ask an arm and a leg. Pete I know you’ll suggest carpart as sometimes those yards don’t know the value of them. -

I’d check for power and check the line itself under the cowl. It very will could’ve rotted away and isn’t getting to the “T” that goes to each nozzle. Or the “T” broke. Both of these happened to me. -

Page 4?! Wow new record on LR being deep in the projects. Anywhoooo I replaced the starter today. The old one was intermittent and being tons of fun to really start. Turn key and have it give a couple chugs and then stop cranking but the bendix still spin. Repeat with variations from one chug to almost starting to finally starting. I think I accidentally waterlogged it back in the summer. So I got a new reman from O'reillys from work and I saw it was a genuine Bosch unit. Score! Got home, yanked the old one out getting ready to put the new one in and I found an inscription on the starter body. Chrysler Corporation! Jackpot!! Genuine Chrysler starter that was remanned. Got it installed, sounds like a jeep and starts a lot faster now. Nothin new to really report. I have been working on the house, Chunk and well..... focused on my upcoming marriage.
