  1. That is scary.
  2. Totally agree with fiatslug and I am biased also. Nice truck and great find! The paint is looking good from the polishing, don't change a thing just keep refreshing and replacing the little stuff.
  3. Gotta keep your belongings dry!
  4. Since we splurged on new appliances on black Friday my wife and I decided not to get each other gifts. She did buy me a container of Ox--Gard and put it in my stocking though so that is great!

    Merry Everything

Congratulations Derf on the arrival of your newest family member and Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone here on CC, great group of people and wish only the best for all of you!
  7. Several years ago there was a company in Daytona that still made aluminum toppers for the mj but can't remember the name, sorry. I assume you are in California and even if they do still make toppers for the mj it might not be worth the extra charge to get it to you. The used mj specific toppers are out there, just be patient and persistent in your search. I found one that cost me more to ship it than the purchase price but totally worth it. As for the S 10 toppers as mentioned above I wouldn't spend a lot on getting one shipped myself because I do not like how they look, the angle between the cab and topper is not the same, as mentioned above the height is different and the view from the back is really bad, the mj cab is more vertical and the s10 has an angle. Don't want to be a downer but I don't want you to spend money on something you will not be happy with. Buck.
  8. Awesome work and I am very jealous of your skills. Thanks for sharing and this build is inspiring. Buck.
  9. Merry Christmas to you and your family also, that is an awesome age for your son to experience Christmas morning! When ours was about that age I put a toy kitchen together in the late night, Santa dropped it off of course. Buck.
  10. Rich, I thought you already had one in your possession! That is really cool and will definitely reimburse you! Thanks for grabbing it, especially on Christmas eve, wow! Buck.
  11. Thanks Rich, it wasn't my first car but it was my first brand new car. I did have a used '86 mj for a few years that I traded for this one, good decision to take the plunge and get this truck. Buck.
  12. That is good, wonder how many wrenches he went through to get the correct pitches, well pretty close pitches anyway. Buck.
  13. 30 years ago today I bought my mj, hope to live another 30 years first and maybe have the mj tag along. I am so fortunate to not have done anything stupid and also not have anyone smash into it over the years, a few minor bumper hits but nothing serious. Did I just jinx it? Since I don't drive it much I actually had to replace the tires because they were 11 years old! There was still good tread but when I looked close I could see some dry rot, I still like to get it up over 80 and the thought of a tire blowing at that speed is not a pretty thought. Buck.
  14. Welcome back, not far away if you ever get over to Lake Mary, drop me a line. I don't make it over to Lake County as often as I used to but will let you know so we can park the mjs together in a parking lot and see how many people stop. Buck.
  15. Jeff, I think I told you the way to say it in cases like this is Floriduh! That is actually not bad compared to other things we have seen from this state. Buck.
  16. Sad you had to go through what you did after standing up to a bully. Kudos to you, karma will get him eventually, sounds like a miserable human being, be safe out there!
  17. Congrats Jeff on getting it running again, lots of hard work paying off!
  18. Great job and congrats on mjotm!

    epic recovery

That is very impressive. There are jobs that have bad hours but pretty much being on call 24/7 would suck, I hope they make good money.
  20. I think you should step away from the cliff and take a few days to really think about it. I agree with fiatslug, others have regretted it and I think you will too. Do you have a place you can store it and use it when you need it or is it even in the way? I will never forget when a friend told me 12 years ago I should do the cash for clunkers thing with my mj, didn't even consider it but would regret ever parting with mine.

    wake up call

So glad you are on the mend and it wasn't worse, take care Cruiser and let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
  22. That is a cool build, looking forward to the progress pics. Thanks for sharing!
  23. I was wondering the same about Florida, Jennifer has a '15 Nissan Rogue with factory tint, the rear door windows and rear hatch window are very dark, even the front doors are dark, I am still not used to it when I drive it at night. The problem with the Nissans is that the dash and top part of all the door panels are black, the dash radiates so much heat during the summer, definitely not designed with any southern states in mind.
  24. So sorry, I do not have my old door handles after all. I thought I got them back with some other parts when I got the truck painted, I found some of the other parts but not the door handles. If I go back to the LKQ and the '91 is still there I will grab them if you still need them. Buck.
  25. Fast draw Pete, you can't beat him, just have to hope he just grazes you. That is very interesting. Hope it is what they say it is.
