The pedal height is the same on vehicles I've done with the 95 and spacer and the WJ without.

And, there may be even better options out there. It seems we've been hung up on the 95 to 96 XJ or the 99 to 2004 wJ conversion. what about 97 to 2001 XJ?

Freeze Plug Frustrations

Yeah, but YOU are maintaining it now. No guarantee if brass were used that they would still be good now. -
Freeze Plug Frustrations
cruiser54 replied to coolwind57's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
From the time the steel plugs are installed, if the coolant concentration and change intervals are adhered to, they would last forever. Putting brass plugs in now, after a PO neglected the cooling system maintenance, is somewhat akin to closing the barn door after the horse got out. -
I also would suspect a bad O2 sensor. Supposed to be replaced about every 60,000 miles. Use only NTK23553. If that tube from your throttle body to MAP sensor is leaking AT ALL, the MAP will tell the ECU you're under heavy load and the ECU will open the injectors for a longer period of time and you'll suck the gas.

You don't use a spacer with the WJ. You clearance the firewall lip for proper brake pedal height and geometry.

Hopefully that NEW flexplate isn't off a bit.

Unplug the flat connector of the TPS and see what happens.

Disassembling the donor. I removed the hanging pedal assembly. It comes out into the engine bay!! very slick. I added grease fittings to it per my long time Alfa owner friend. I'll use this one when I put the new booster into my car. -
I was but my kids are in Georgia along with my Grand Daughter we haven't even seen. I don't want to continue missing things I shouldn't. Understand that.

Nice!!! Always loved that style. My first vehicle was a 52 Ford pickup. Hey, I thought you were moving to Arizona....

If the teeth are good on the ring gear and there are no cracks.......... I've never found a bad flexplate on any of the Jeeps I've parted out. I don't think it's real common as a failure.

I'm from the other camp. Good used is better than crappy new repro stuff,

Get a used one....

I think that was mostly Renix. But, those companies probably all source the part from the same place.

2wd to 4x4 swap on 1988 4.0
cruiser54 replied to fixerupper88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You could get it before it gets away. Trading the manual for an auto or selling the manual and buying an auto should be very easy. -
Steering Column, Tilt? Push me over the ledge.

I have it in all my Jeeps. Never move it. -

The recipient. #0030 The recipient had no carpeting or interior panels. Donor #0036 has all that. Cleaned it all up and dyed it. Next is to swap it into #0030. Gotta get the carpet in before I can put those fancy reupholstered factory seats in. Finally be sitting in the correct position. I'll try to snap some pics of the progress this afternoon. -
Yup.

Welded the one on my wife's 88 nearly 8 years ago. It's fine still.

Alfa Romeo project progress

While dinking around in the garage with some buddies yesterday, one of them kept walking back and forth noting how similar the cars were. I thought nothing of it since they are both 1978s. He yelled "Check this out!" Look at the serial numbers. They are 0030 and 0036. What are the chances that 2 cars, built on the same assembly line 5 cars from each other, would end up 40 years later in the same garage in Prescott, Arizona? -
