  1. Thought I was starting a new thread. Didn't know I was adding onto one already there.
  2. Anybody close to Pueblo want to swap their labor for Jeep parts? I can still get the job done but it takes just a wee bit longer. Took me 4 days to swap a transmission that shouldn't have took over 4 hours.
  3. Must be a Jeep thing. I've owned 3 S10's and i Jimmy with the 2.8 They all had over 150K on them. Never had a bit of trouble with any of them. Had i MJ with a 2.8. 90K when I bought it. Didn't put 5,000 on it when I blew the engine. Let me rephrase that. When the engine busted. I swapped the 2.8 out with one from a '85 S10.Just waiting until I get it back together and running. Curious to see what it will do. :hmm: And for what it's worth, every MJ and XJ I have with the 2.5 would run circles around them.
  4. You can't beat plain ole hot water and kitchen detergent.
  5. Been studying that pic all night and don't see anything wrong with it that a little Duct tape and coat of paint won't fix up.
  6. Get it down here. I'll buy it. :???:
  7. Everybody knows that a straight V6 runs much better and lasts longer than a V6 with a 90 degree bend in the middle. :hmm:
  8. I have found it easier in badly rusted and, or dented tailgates to just get some pipe and sheet metal and make a new one from scratch.
  9. Where I live, I couldn't make it from the house to the highway and have it still in one piece. :fs1:
  10. Eleven, and a bunch of spare parts.
  11. $50 shipped.
  12. As much as I hate the idea, it's time for me to start thinking of selling. Wife has made it clear she's not messing with them, just call in a portable crusher. No heirs so what's left? :dunno: :dunno:
  13. There is a brace running horizontally across the width of the cab about six inches from the bottom of the rear window. There is a 3 inch metal brace across the bottom of the cab. More than adequate to hold screws attaching a gun rack. And the screws won't be going thru the exterior cab wall.
  14. Usually the key comes with the cylinder. Try spraying the old cylinder with a shot of graphite first.
  15. You going to bid on it? Get it back and try to repair it? Can't always tell just by a pic but that looks very repairable to me.

    Thanks, Gents

The next time you have a need for any surgery drop by. Since I don't have a fancy operating room and a staff of assistants I can do it a hell of a lot cheaper. If you don't like JD, then bring your own anesthetic.
  17. My external kit from NAPA was $96, LUK. Was that getting the flywheel turned, new pressure plate, new clutch disc and pilot bearing?
  18. Bit the bullet and went to town and got a new set. JEEEEEEZ!!!! $250 some dollars. :fs1:
  19. Placed them side by side and ran a flat bar across the springs.
  20. Hey Eagle. Welcome back,,
  21. At present the ice caps are ABOVE the water line so they have no influence on it. When they melt the water will flow down and into the ocean. The obvious solution is for everybody to start drinking more booze, getting the ice for them from the ice cap.
  22. Had a Colorado Diamond Back nail my J10 a couple years back. Swelled up twice it's normal size. Started to junk it but it ran OK so just re registered it as a 2 ton.
  23. I have a clutch kit for a 1986 S10, 2.8 that I did not use. Sold the S10 B4 I got it installed. I have a 1987 MJ, 2.5 that needs a new clutch disc and pressure plate. Placing them side by side the disks are identical, almost. The 2.5 has 4 springs and the S 10 has 6. The pressure plates are almost identical. The fingers the throw out bearing rides on stick up a 1/4 inch higher than the fingers on the MJ. Can I use the S10 stuff in the MJ? I would just go into town and get the correct kit except it's a 20 mile trip. Any body know? :dunno:
  24. HUH? Now what did I do? :dunno:
